Well, it's back together again. I wanted to ride it around some and check out the new exhaust. I also wanted to see how the exhaust would look with the bodywork installed:

I think it matches the "theme" of the bike pretty well.
I also procured some of this:

I am going to try it out the next time I go to the track. I have been rained out twice recently and other responsibilites have kept me away. Hopefully I'll make it back soon. I'm still looking to get the bike into the 8's.

Bike looks real nice !
I am pretty sure you know how important it is to drain that stuff and flush the system, run the engine with normal fuel afterward....

Just a quick update from Maxton. Very, very hot here! I believe we saw 97 degrees today, and even some straight headwinds in the afternoon.

Still, I managed to run my fastest mph ever for the 14:

That pass was done on the Brock Street Map, with the air filter removed and pump gas. I'm not sure that the filter made a difference (I have a BMC Race in it). I put it back in after that pass,...but the air and wind got worse in the afternoon, so I can't really compare.
All told I got in 8 passes today. All were between 185-190. With mid 90's and headwinds, my speeds dropped as the day went on. It was so hot that there was literally nobody left to send down the track. I hot lapped the bike and did two 185-187 passes within 6 minutes. My bike definitely loses some mph when you get it that hot.

Good job Shane ... The street map was a good call for that kind of heat ... If you ever get to maxton and have good air try Brocks maxton map ...190 in that heat is moving ... My bike in this heat ( 98 Deg ) has lost about 10 hp and it shows in the MPH big time .. If you can get some MR9 you could make up some of that lost ...

I have some MR9...I made a couple of passes with it (mixed with pump), but I put in the Maxton map, and I think it was just too fat for the heat. I'm going to play around with the maps some tomorrow, if possible.

Shane from running MR9 i can tell you it's a waste of time and money to mix it with pump gas .. You have to run it 100% to get a gain ...
Pull the tank and pull the pump and dump that pump gas ...Make sure all the pump gas is gone .... Put in the MR9 and run the motor for 5 or 6 mins to remove the pump gas from the lines and pump ....Trust me on this one Shane ..

We just got home. Here is the update for today:

The bike was fairly fast and consistent today. 6 passes:
193.03
193.14
193.84
192.56 (rider error)
193.20
192.37 (hot bike, and air temps)
Every run was better than my prior best. I ran the Brock's MR9 map. I was not about to drain the tank this morning, so I added my remaining MR9. So the mix was about 2 gallons of pump/MR9 at first, and then another 1.5 gallons of MR9 on top. I am sure it would have run better with straight MR9, but it wasn't in the cards today. I didn't have enough fuel to run on MR9 alone.
I was nearly tapped out as far as gearing, with the tach showing about 11,200 +/- indicated through the lights. I figure it had another 150 rpm in it. I believe it has some more speed in it with a sprocket change.
All told, 14 passes between 185-193 mph this weekend. Many of them in searing heat.
As far the logging, nope, I didn't log it. The map was made in summer heat, at Maxton, with the same bike setup. I felt comfortable running it. If anything, it should have a run little rich due to less oxygen in the fuel.
The logger is coming, and soon.

193 Nice going Shane ...That is flying !! One of these days i'm going to have to give that a try ... It's one thing going fast in the 1/4 mile but hanging it all out for a mile has to be a rush !! That takes some stones for sure..

Thanks. I think the baggy leathers are costing me some mph. The elbows/padding on these leathers are ridiculously huge!

Cool pics Shane .. I have to ask why you are setting up on the second hump? I would think you would want to be lower and tucked under the wind screen better .. I may be wrong because i know nothing about LSR ..

It is to make the slope of my back more gradual. When I am in full tuck I have no problem getting low in the front. In fact, I have to lift my chin off the tank because Maxton is so bumpy. If I stayed down in the front portion of the seat it wouldn't work out well for me, with my long upper body.
I believe the pic above is at the beginning of the track as I am getting tucked in under acceleration...my head is not quite down all the way yet.
