I got some more stuff completed today, but things were slow going.

Installed 2008 fuel pump, for additional clearance:

Note reduced depth of 2008 pump:

A lot more room now:

Seems to run fine. I switched to the Brock track map; seems pretty rich down low. It will shoot a flame out the pipe occasionally when blipping the throttle. I'm not sure which map I am going to (or should?) be running. There is also old gas in the bike right now.

Galfer rear rotor came:

Weight: 2.0 lbs.

Installed modified brake hanger:

Weight: 1.0 lb.

It's getting there, but I still have a long way to go...

I'm hoping things will go together quickly tomorrow...I have parts coming in the afternoon that will allow me to finish a few items. There are many details to address before I can even take a small test drive.

Shane, try the Maxton map. I have been running it in my bike since last year and it has
excellent top end pull. Plus, you can run 87 or MR-11. I have been running 87 with a BMC
race filter with no problems. With MR-11 I picked up about 4 mph in the 1/4.

Those are stock rearsets with GSXR pegs and carbon heel guards.

I have been working non-stop for the last 6 hours. I finally got it together enough to take it for a spin:

It feels very, very strong. Actually a little much after a long winter! I sitll have quite a few things to get done, but the maiden voyage is complete.

I swittched to the street map, per Brock's. The race map is more suited to oxygenated fuel and no air filter, I was told. That explains why it ran so rich yesterday.

Right now I have 2.5" of ground clearance with the strap snug.

I took it to the track today:

I haven't been to the strip in 6 months, and I didn't ride it well. Even so, the bike ran well. My personal best from last year was 9.30. Well, my first pass off the trailer was a 9.31. I managed to run a couple of 9.23's on it as well. Bike #58:

MPH is definitely up from last year. I know my riding was atrocious (terrible 60 ft's), but with more seat time I hope to see some progress.

I have some shifter gremlins to attend to. In the afternoon, when the bike was pretty hot, it started missing some shifts. Once it even popped down out of gear. I adjusted the kill time and made 4 clean passes, but I will be investigating this further.

Other than that, a good day. New personal bests in 1/8th, 1/4, and mph.

I'm not sure, Bawls. It depends on how it comes along in the next few weeks. It could be as early as May, or as late as September. I still have quite a bit of work to do.

I have a Tiger Racing undertail installed right now. Here is how I was able to organize everything: stock electronics, power commander, shift kill, and CO2 tank:

I might be changing this setup, but for now it works well.

Yes...There is only so much time in the day, and re-doing the rear brake setup is a separate project. What I have now works fine and is lighter than stock.

I had to drop about 10 different sub-projects so I could get it back together and to the track, and I'm glad I did! There is simply not enough time or money to make everything perfect and on schedule. In fact, perfect and "on schedule" are mutually exclusive terms!

I want to illustrate how much "faster" the bike is due to the changes. Remember, I was riding poorly yesterday. My best from yesterday was only .06 better than what I did last year. So, where is the gain?

Examine these two timeslips (#44 and #58). One, from last year, with a 1.49 60 ft. The other, from yesterday...with a horrific 1.65 60 ft:

But yesteday's pass is only .01 slower...even with the .16 difference in 60 ft! Normally the difference in 60 ft. is multiplied 1.5x or so by the end of the track. Meaning last year's setup would have went 9.55 - 9.60 on that 1.65 60 ft....compared to a 9.33 now. Wow!

The bike is accelerating much harder now....even though I am -2 on the rear sprocket compared to last season. Lot's of potential here!

It was around 75 degrees when I ran 150 mph. I put 18 psi in the tire in the morning, figuring it to rise a couple of psi during the day. I also was using the street map. Rider/Bike combined weight of about 690 lbs, I suspect.

How much do you weigh? Your mph sounds very low. How about your clutch? Have you inspected it?

I'm thinking I might gain 1mph or so from them...I hope to find out next week.

My #1 priority this week is sorting out my shifting issues.
