I feel your pain. Ramen noodles chicken flavor 36 pack from SAM"S whole sale last month. I lost a few pounds and got a Brocks streetmeg this month.

I got the 6.0. The bike hooks fine with a 6" rim, and any more traction than you need is drag for top speed runs. That is one of the reasons that you typically run high tire pressures at the mile.

Not a big deal, really. Each size has it's own benefits/drawbacks. I would be happy with any of them.

Yeah, probably so. It was a tough decision, but like I said, any of them will get the job done.

I think for pure dragracing, the 6.625 would be tops. I doubt you would lose much if anything at the mile..only if you ran the wrong tire/pressure combo.

*Rim Update #2*

I just spoke with Jeff at Brock's Performance. They are expediting the replacement process on the wheel, which I really appreciate.

Jeff said that they are going to be in contact with BST regarding the issue. They are also going to institute additional inspection steps at Brock's to further insure that this sort of issue does not arise in the future.

I can't say enough about this level of customer service. Truly outstanding!

Thanks, Woppi. Yes, I am a little....errr....crazy, I suppose.

I guess there is a fine line between a passion and an obsession?? The other night I woke up and my mind was racing. My girlfriend asked me what I was doing up, and on the pc?

" I couldn't sleep, so I figured I would take a few minutes to research some Titanium bolts"

Then, to relax for sleep, I spent a few minutes standing in the bathroom admiring my front rim.

In the morning, I let all of the bike stuff go and simply kept track of the Texas Mile results online. Nice to have a break.....

Thanks man. I'm coming to a pivotal point in the project and I have some big decisions to make as far as setup. At least the wheels dilemma has been solved...

no not at all! less rotating mass is better for going straight fast (or faster!), braking, or in the turns

I received the replacement rim from Brock's today. It looks fantastic:

The Vortex sprockets they sell are very nice as well:

These rims are, needless to say, very high quality. The cush drive and spacers are made to very tight tolerances. Much nicer than the Stage 1 Carrozzeria's I had. I also like the spacer arrangement. The spacers are captive, but they do not drag against seals...unlike the older Carrozzeria wheels.

So, now I have my wheels and swingarm. I am waiting on the rear shock. Next up I will be searching out some lighter rotors. I have a feeling that I won't find many that are lighter than the stock fronts (at reasonable cost), but I may find something with better braking performance when used in a single rotor application.

WOW... that is simply beautiful

I'm glad this got resolved so quick.

I need to look into the different brand/ model/ height rear tire
weight measurements-
my beloved Pilot Powers 2CT in 190/55 is quite heavy...
My crappy bathroom scale shows ugly numbers on my rear wheel
assembly and I just can't see anything else but the rubber adding
the beef.

I need to ask you if you have the weight on the stock gsx-r rear wheel
assembly with the stock Bridgestone and the stock 14 as well.
Please, post them up if you do.
Thanks

Stan, my oem Bridgestone from the 14, with 1100 miles on it, is 13.6 lbs.

So, the stock 14 tire mounted to the GSXR rim, with sprocket carrier (but no sprocket or rotor), would be about 29.0 lbs.

I think that should tell you what you need to know...
