paint protector

I was looking for a tank pad/protector when I came across this

http://www.thetankslapper.biz/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-KAWASAKI_TPK.html?L+scstore+rqpj8293ff5e785e+1222007726

So I bought a set. I only have a few key pieces on now, but will let you know what I think once they are all on. A little more difficult to put on than led on but not bad. What do you y'all think of them?

tankslapper is basically using 3M paint protector... we use the 3M stuff all the time on our test bikes... it's not easy to apply and I'd recommend that if you're particular about your bike, you find a local window tint shop that will install protective film professionally. All the compound curves of a bike make it tricky to put on... you can also try "venture shield" and find a local installer. We've used that successfully as well.

we're leery of the tank slapper people as we did request their product to test side by each with venture shield and 3M and they didn't so much as refuse, but dodged us enough to make us not care about them any more. Have also read several accounts on local forums of botched tank slapper installs by bike owners..

again, after using this products in my opinion it is not the fault of the product, but the fault of the installer... if installed professionally these products look great.

I currently have the 3m on our 1098 and our busa, as well as ventureshield on my personal cars... without it my car's hood and fenders would have been toast long ago.

Agreed. The tankslapper is a decent product but is a real pain to apply correctly. Once you have it on though it works well (I use it on my 14). Tough to beat the price.

I bought the tank slapper -then- watched the video on how to apply it to the tank. Huge PITA. The kit is unused. I'm using tons of wax instead, so far so good. No tank scratches in 2 months riding.

Same here. Payed 20 bucks shipped for the 3 piece tank kit for my last bike a few years ago....never installed it.
