no damn way in hell your a zx14 gets 45mpg PERIOD! Hell, I go to 70, let completely up on the gas and let it decell down and it only reads 42mpg!
My unreliable but easy fuel economy gauge shows a average of 33mpg overall (1000+ miles since reset) of nearly all highway miles and only moderate throttle use. Ridden hard I've seen 28mpg after a full gas tank of mountain blasting, but thats the lowest. Now if you figure the speedo is off at least 8%, then logic would assume the mileage estimate is off the same amount meaning I average aprx. 30mpg. Not what I was expecting, but I'm not exactly shocked either since the newer 600's and 1000's are in that range too once you mod them, and stock they arent much better, say mid to upper 30's

I'm getting better mileage with the turbo than stock by far. Matt at Utah Motorsports (Ducati dealer), did the mapping and he is very busy doing maps all day. His maps are complete custom to each bike and knows what the hell he is doing. (after all he is a Ducati mechanic). I'm pulling almost no throttle at 80mph, letting off the throttle in instant setting says 99mpg. Why don't you call them, after the mapping the average was 38mpg indicated when I picked it up. If you can keep a Duc running you can fix anything and do anything.

I'm waiting for custom mapping until I can toss my slipons and go with a full exhaust. I figure if I can lean the bike out to the proper A/F ratio I could pick up 4-5 mpg with my setup now, but its no use if I'm going to change this setup soon.
