Yes Johnny you are right... DO NOT install 08 injectors in a 06 or 07 ZX14, they flood the bike with fuel. The 08 injectors flow way more fuel than the older models. Made that mistake and it cost me a second at the track...

I don't know if you can fix it with a custom map. I tried every map I could get my hands on and nothing made it better till I removed them.
If you have a dyno center in your area that is willing to spend some time dialing them in that maybe something to try. We just got a new guy here in town and remapped my bike and it is running better then ever when its running... HAHAHA

So, will 08 injectors work in an 06 with a custom map then?

i would say yes since guys put 370s and 440s in ZX12Rs(stock is 330ish i think) and just get them mapped with neg numbers down low

Well, from what I have been told the 06 injectors are 330 cc, and the 08 injectors are 440 cc
Thats 25% increase.
I am sure I can pull negative numbers on the map, but was wondering if everything else is direct fit.

hi
when i fitted the 08 injectors, to my 06 bike, and went on a first run, the instant mpg was showing way too rich , so i went into my power comander and -15 everywhere, result so lean the engine stuttered everywhere, ended up putting back my orignal 06 injectors map, and covering a couple of hundred miles more mpg seemed to be back up
have a visit planned to the dyno when weather picks up so will find out and have things sorted for sure

thats good news for dry nitrous guys with 06-07. fit 08 injectors, custom map, and you have way more "room to grow" with nitrous up top. probly good for some mild turbo setups too

That would be great.... I have just heard and cannot confirm what the actual flow rates are, but it would be nice to know.
Would you be able to do this, if its not much trouble?

I am goin to run a second rail of injectors, with a TPS and Map based stand alone driving the second ones.
Much more flexable and easier to tune.
It all depends what you want to do.
For guys wanting under 400HP the singe rail of 550cc are good.
To make 300 on street and over 450 at the track, the 550cc would need to see over 100 psi fuel pressure, and I just didn't wan to deal with injectors that "might" operate at over 100 psi.
Thje 550cc is the most economical way to go, and fully capable.
Just not the hot ticket for over 450 HP numbers and versatility.
660 cc would have been the bettter ticket making 500 HP at 85psi, but really bad street drivability. Just too big for 300HP.
The second rail set up will cost about $1800
