Impressed with my buddies 60 fts

Here is what my buddy did on his 08 busa fri night on 87 oump gas

I'm pretty happy with my 08 today. Last weekend I couldn't keep the front end down but this week Bently and I put in the clutch mod, a Gen-Mar riser (dropped the front 3/4") and an R1 throttle tube. I weigh 183 in gym shorts and t-shirt. My bike is at 60" and I went:

.079
1.452
3.965
6.012
120.35
7.787
9.298
148.94

also went

.127 (oops)
1.454
3.979
6.023
120.58
7.797
9.305
149.20

I know there is more in it. Bently was running slower 60's than me, weighs more, and outruns me on the second half of the track. I just have to figure out how to get the throttle open quicker after the 60'. I've gone more mph in the 1/8 my first day out. It will go 9-teens once I get it all figured out. I really want to see 152-153 mph in good air but I don't know. I switched bikes with Bently and we get the same results. I ran a 9.33 with a 1.464 60' and he was just hanging back to look at his bike from behind. Well, that's what he told me anyway. So far he's buying me a steak dinner unless he gets it going a little quicker.

Ya that's what he posted on the Busa board. we have a steak dinner bet on who runs faster this seaseon so far I'm Buying! LOL My best run of the night was another 9.36 with a 1.54 60 ft. If I nail a 1.45 like him I should go a 9.20 to 9.25 and at my weight I will take that on pump gas at 60 inches.

Hey Bently, how would you say the power of the 2008 Busa compares to a 14 with flies out.............more lowend torque, more topend or about the same................not thinking of getting a Busa or anything, I love my 14, just curious.

A 14 with the flies out and an 08 Busa are so close It's hard to mearsure. My 14 ran a little bit more MPH but I 60 ft much better on the busa so I know that takes some mph away. I've went 150.10 on the Busa and 153 on the 14 but normally 151 on the 14. My 1/8 th mph is about the same on both bikes so maybe Brock we refine the fisrt map he had and it will pick up alittle bit more mph. I'm also leaving my legs out longer know which kills mph also so who knows. But et wise equal riders they are very very close.

I read he had the clutch mod in his bike ...I'm sure that helped him get that 1.45 60 .. I think those are good numbers for a guy weighing 185+ at 60 inches ... Tony Tooth at 185 pounds ( stock wheelbase zx14 ) ran a 9.32 on pump gas ...I can't rember his 60 foot but it wasn't a 1.45 , maybe 1.50s ... I'll go see if i can find that thread ....

Found it >>> Tonys 1/4 mile pass >> 1.57 60', 6.07 1/8th, 9.32 1/4mile, 150.20 mph

Numbers are pretty close . But Tonys bike was at 57 1/2 wheel base ...If his was at 60 inches his numbers could have been a tenth or so better .. Still very close ..

60 fts are good, 330 is bad.

it is bogging after the 60 I would bet......

you are still in first gear past 60 ft, lots can happen. Get that issue out, and it will fly.......

Your right on Nox only he is not bogging just not getting the throttle opened soon enough! My tickets to his and I'm 60 ft worse but making it up going down track. He can go a 9 teen when he gets the throttle opened.

Smoking, I can't remember what did tony tooth wiegh? It would be more fair to compare my times to his as I had a 1.55 60 ft and went 9.36. If I can get a 1.45 I should go low 20's at my weight.

At that time Tony was about 185 Without Gear ..Tony only went to and ran the 1/4 mile twice with his zx14 ( about 6 runs total ) ...I think he could have run quicker but he called the 9.30s good and never tried again ...I wish he had not gave up but i can't make him do something he didn't want to do ..He has not been back to the drag strip since ...

Lietoome, Yes I have the clutch mod. and no we are using an airshifter. Although we have some 1000.00 to win races where air shifters are not allowed so we will try to foot shift again soon, we should both be fine as this is the first year we have tried airshifters.
