Updated pictures of my 2007 SE
Here are some updated pictures of my 14. It is still pretty new, only has 430 miles on it so far. I have put on a Puig dark double bubble windscreen, fender eliminator, rear spools, Yoshimura full race exhaust w/ carbon can, speedohealer, pciii, and removed the flies. The new pipercross air filter should be here on Monday.

So, what ya think? Am I off to a decent start?

Best thing I can do for pipercross information is give you a link to a thread about them and post the summary. All I know is that they are supposed to be much better for this bike than K&N which is what I generally run.
Here is a link to a thread about them. http://www.zx14.net/publicforum/index.php?topic=3808.0
At least a 2HP...gain with proper tuning!
Why foam for air filters?
Pipercross foam is the secret to a lightweight, longlife performance air filter.
Pipercross air filters consistently outperform paper and cotton-gauze rivals to supply air to the engine - even when dirty! This is thanks to the multilaminate construction used in every Pipercross performance air filter. Layers of varying porosity foam all work together to trap different sized particles.
Air filter efficiency testing
Through extensive research and testing using the SAE J726c air cleaner test, Pipercross have developed the perfect combination of filter density and thickness of each layer. Where Pipercross filters are impregnated with the dirt retention additive, the filtration performance is greater enhanced - the additive helps the foam to swell, opening pores whilst providing a "sticky" layer to hold more dirt.
This greater dirt capacity translates to longer life and as Pipercross filters are washable, there is no waste - helping the environment and your wallet!
All about Pipercross

Thank you. As for comparing the two bikes, he is faster, it has nothing to do with the bike though. He is a much better rider than I am. I am aware of my limits and I'm not willing to go beyond them in order to keep up with another rider. He is helping me with my riding and helping me improve in a safe manner. He is an instructor so every time I ride with him I get a little better and a little safer.
Honestly, I am convinced that these two bikes are so close to each other performance wise that the best rider is going to win every time. Or if it is the same rider it is just which bike he (or she) is most comfortable with. However, for the long rides I would say the 14 is the better bike due to the fact that it is more comfortable for long periods of time.

I'm 5' 10" and 175 pounds (currently ten pounds heavier than I should be). The other rider is about 5' 10" and 205 pounds. Even though I am heavier than I should be, I wouldn't really consider myself overweight, I'm just overweight for my sport of choice (race road bicycles). I wouldn't consider the other rider overweight either.

Haha, you're far from heavy man. I'm 6'2 280 naked right now man..lol.
I was just stating weight determines who's going to be faster also.
It wasn't a crack on you.

Lowcel let me know what you think of that Pipercross filter when you get it installed. I am also thinking about going that route. I was going to do K&N but to many people said it let to much dirt in. So my only choice was BMC but I like having different choices and I don't know to much about Piper. SO help a fellow 14er out.

I installed the pipercross a couple of weeks ago. I did all of the mods at about the same time so I really can't tell how much of a difference it made. I wish I could be more help but I would rather be honest than to just make stuff up.
