New 08 maps
I got a chance to go for a short ride with Brocks new map for the 2008. I installed the street map with flies in, and to be honest I wasnt expecting much on the butt dyno, but wow!! I couldnt believe the increase in all ranges of rpms's. I was really amazed in the lower power delivery, but mid and top was noticebly better. Thumbs up to brock, I was really amazed with the increase in power. Just for kicks I think I'll dyno it with no map and then with Brocks new one, I'll post the numbers as soon as I can get this done. It will take a couple of weeks to get in at the shop, but stay tuned.

Will be anxiously awaiting your results on the dyno Reward69. My 08 will get some tweeks by Muzzy's or Brocks in the future also. It's like a dream as it sits from the factory, all congested up even. Sounds like a moped, but runs like a jet. Never have I experienced such a quiet power. I can't imagine what it will do uncorcked.

so are any of you guys running the brocks maps with other pipes? i talked to the guys at brocks yesterday, and they said their maps are for their pipes only.
thoughts?

Tried that back in 03 with Busa's I had the Brock pipe and map and my buddy had the xxxxx. He would out 60 ft me every pass but I went a consistent .15 to .20 faster then him and about 3 to 5 mph. We weighed the same within 2 lbs any given day. He tried every map possible with the xxxxx pipe and even a custom map and nothing helped. He tried my Brock map with not much improvement either. So he orderd the Brocks pipe and started going about a .10 faster then me.

Anyone run a full system on the 08' without a PCIII? I thought it came rich from the factory...or would it run too lean with the new pipes? I just receive my full system Yosh, but no maps for the 08' yet. Thinking about running it without a PCIII until the appropiate maps come available dynojet, etc.
Thoughts?

Numbers
Well sooner than I thought, but not all that I wanted. Called my friend at the local shop and he said that he could squeeze me in for just a HP run, so I couldnt resist.
Well here are the results:
1st stats on the bike:
08' of course, brocks smeg, PCIII with brocks new street map, stock air filter, one down in front, stock rear, pump 93 liquid gold!!!, 2400 ft elevation, 86 degrees 16% humidity.
173.36 HP SAE
179.82 HP STD
This was performed on a dynojet, not sure the model?
Tech said he just did an 07' GSXR 1000 with custom map and it made 163 and change.
The bike looked to be a litte rich through the mid rpms due to the hint of black smoke but sounded great. Even a 2 foot flame on decell.......
Personally I thought it may be a little higher, as I came from a 03' piped and pcd Busa, but this thing rocks on the street. My busa made 165 and change with basically the same set up. Again Im not into the wanna be dyno king and I understand that Brocks sets his maps for perfromance not the highest dyno numbers. Just let me tell you his map made a huge difference in the feel of the bike over his temporary map, which was an improvement over the dynojets web site map.
Anyway hopefully this will answer some questions about the 08', though Im sure with a dyno map, better fuel, and the normal tweeks to get the dyno #s it would be higher, but this is one strong bike.
Once I get a chance to get to the track I will post some numbers. Though dont expect anything great as it will remain stock wheelbase and not lowered. I ride too much in the twistys for that.

Looks like the temps were warm, not really bad #'s at all!!!

No torque on just HP runs, they charge $25 to just strap her down and see what she'll do. For $75 they will hook up A/F and check torque and $250 for a custom map. I believe I'll be sticking with Brocks though. You never know you might need to buy 10 or 15 gallons of gas with that $250.

Brock will tell you that his maps will show lower HP on a dyno ....But as we all know we don't ride dynos ... Brock will send you a map just for big HP numbers on the dyno so you can show your buddies But it will not make good numbers at the track ...
If you want to see better numbers toss out that 93 pump junk and run 87 ...Trust me you will see and feel the difference ...
