Bling , Zing, and a few other things...

I am one happy dood !

Black Betty is gonna be one tasty nasty ride this year.
I made the mistake of selling toys I made by myself in the past, but this will be one ride I doubt I will ever sell.

I would have reduced the total mass on the bike by 78 lbs, but the turbo, and swingarm has consumed 40 lbs of that....

Well my collection of parts is coming along nicely....
the ohlins components, cylinder head, pistons and rods, and new swingarm are not here yet, but here is a little insight to my project.

ASV LEVERS, WIZARD PRELOAD ADJUSTERS

RIZOMA BILLET RESEVOIRS, PROBOLT HARDWARE, DZUS FASTNERS

GALFER GSXR SUPERBIKE BRAKELINES, DP HH+ PADS

GILLES VARIOBARS, OHLINS ROTARY DAMPER

CARBON BITS: LOWERS, GRILLES, RAM AIR DASH COVERS, BATTERY COVER, UNDERCOWL

GSXR 1000 WHEELS, GALFER ROTORS, CERAMIC BRGS, PILOT SPORT 2CT'S

ATP GARRET DUAL BALL BRG TURBO, EXTERNAL WASTGATE, O2 BUNG, CERAMIC COATED,

i think I need a better camera.....

The bike will have a custom tail section, GSXR 1000 forks with ohlins cartridges, and ohlins rear shock , vortex rear sets as well.
Bazzaz fueling, Schnitz efir, custom fuel rail and 550 cc injectors, MTC 2 stage lockup, billet clutch cover, and billet velocity stacks, FBG undercut tranny, also add to the list.

I am looking into a rear view camera, and losing the mirrors.
If you guys have any experience with on board camera's or know of some one who does, and has good daytime visibility, resolution please let me know

Well, gotta go back ou to the garage....
We just got 2 feet of snow overnight.... I guess I have enough time to kill before riding it.
The remaining parts should arrive in 3-4 weeks.... so Mid to end of May it will be rolling!

Thats ridiculous what a bunch of junk, waste of money. Okay I'm just jealous of your toy budget. I'm headed to the streetcorner with my sign so please give generously so that I might be able to feed my family - habit.

Ha ha.
The gold bits were pricey, but the carbon were steals I found on ebay, the wheels, forks and GSXR components used, but like NEW, for 1/3 the price!

The Turbo is the biggest expense, but I am sure will be worth it.

I got allot of great deals.

Jack, If you spent the money you have on your rocket, it would cost no more to fund the additions to my 14.

Thanks for the compliment though.

Nice dubious, real nice! Just let me know when you want to sell it next year.

I really want pics of those carbon fiber parts all together on the bike, I'm leaning heavily towards that look myself. And thanks for the hookup on EBay, "Cruiser backrest" has some great prices on that stuff.

I made the mistake of selling this bike I built 2 years ago...My own CR500AF conversion
Will never do that again... HUGE mistake.

The 14 is a keeper, they can bury it with me...

Ported, piped, oval bored carb, billet basket, stainless lines, braking, racetech, excell wheels, protapers, custom airbox, all the sweat , blood and tears etc etc...
73 RWHP and 220 lbs 100 MPH Wheelie monster... 2 hrs on that thing and I was wore out LOL...

Nice bike! How much did you sell it for? I've been looking for a big ass dirtbike that could haul me around, but I'm worried there isn't anything that can handle a 320 pound maniac!

Nope, never sold drugs.
did some when younger though.... tobacco is my only vice besides the bike.

I live in hell, and they pay me well.

the head, and other parts might be 3-4 weeks away....
mid to end of may.

I don't even want to say what I sold the CR500AF for.... except not nearly enough....
money was tight back then.

Ebay has good deals on CR500AF's sometimes though.
That or a KTM 525 , KX500 would be best for bigger guys.

No wonder our gas prices are so darn high... Dube's up there spending all our hard earned Yankee Greenbacks building his Road Rocket. Stop it, You Mad Canadian!!!!!! LOL

When are you planning the U.S. Cross Country road trip? Wife sold her 14 last week, so I might just be able to ride along with you for a day or two while she stays back and takes care of our little girl. Let me know if you have any interest in visiting the Dragon (Tenn.) while on your westward trek.

How long until you'll have the 14 back up & running? Hopefully soon, cause these fuel prices are killing us, lol. Be safe!

Find yourself an old YZ 490. Godzilla lives!!!! I had a 1982 that was a POS and would still walk from drag banshees in the sand without a paddle! I also saw an 85 that was slammed, stretched, ported, and on methonal that ran 11.20's in the 1/4. I believe that they made around 60-65 hp depending on the year. Given, they're not fit for a track because the suspension heats up and has the patented "Yama-hop" lol. If it's the king of the big bore 2's that you're looking for then the 490 is your best bet for drags. Mine would wheelie and spin at the same time in 4th on asphault. BTW... It's a 4 speed lol.

haha thanks Bawls. I used to ride my friends '83 built to the absolute hilt CR500. He spend 4 or 5K on the engine, then realized it was way too much of a bike for a chubby 5'4" guy to ride. He wouldnt sell it too me (too much $$ into it), but let me ride it whenever I wanted. He eventually traded it in on for a quad. Been missing it ever since.

Someone near texas needs an '03 banshee with FMF SST pipes, Keihin 29mm PWK's, 12t front sprocket, After market bars with renthal grips, A set of Sand Skate 2 paddles, and K&N. It runs the 100 yds in 5.40 with me on it. Any takers? LOL I need that thing like i need a hole in the head. Would love to bring it back to Cali with me but i don't have the time, nor the transportation for it. It's an awesome bike and still starts with one kick even though it has never been re-built.

Nice! Is that a Scott's damper? Is the stuff on the bike yet, if so how you liking the Gilles clipon variobars? For the Ohlins, are you getting the cartridges kit like the AMA racers use, or buying a fork kit?
