Nitrous activation RPM?

I bought a nitrous window switch that has ability to skip gears and has rpm start and shut off settings. I plan on skipping first gear to start with and i will have it set up for WOT,but whats a good Rpm for it to start spraying?

You have to figgure that you will very high is the R's when in second anyway sooooo I would see where the RPM is after the shift and start around there.

Since you will be WOT and shift into second at ~11,000
8,000 to 10,700 would probably be a good starting window and make adjustments from there. It's going to be hard to be WOT and below 8,000.

If itis the same one I have, remember the gear skip only works once you run past the high rpm range.
So you you should set it like 10,500-10,800 range
and the rpm swing once shifted will only be 1000-1300rpm,
so I would think 9000-9500 the earliest.

Mine is identical to the one ZEX and Dynotune put out.

The reason I say this is I have a problem short shifting a little in 1st gear
not surpassing the upper limit and then the sparay didn't activate until 3rd gear.

Why dont you just stage the spray.
NOS from 1st gear with a 1 sec delay that will pull you thru to your max pressure...

maybe 10 hp in 1st gear all the way up to 3rd gear and full spray....
You can do this thru the pc3 usb and the hud addition.

pretty cool set up.

however rough to ride on the street. nice strip setup though.

are you using an airshifter?

the more I look into individual setups there seems to be no limits...

I just used to spray wet.
No I am going to be spraying dry.
I used o think 50 was the cut off for dry shot...
Depending on your setup alot higher numbers can be achieved with some dyno time...

I like the topic...

Stu, Activate in 3rd gear for the first couple times to get an idea what to expect.
Then try second after you're comfortable.
How much are you spraying?

Stock wheelbase?

Don't be fooled by all the big hp talk, 40hp is a nice hit, be ready.
Direct injection DRY (not a box fogger) hits hard like a WET kit.

P.s. I don't like auto spray. Its too hard to stop it in the event of a wheelie or out of control situation. I alway use the starter button as final activation at WOT. my .02

I would be interested in seeing them if u got a link!
thanks!

hehe hang on!

Do u have smaller jets to step into NOS??

I am sure u will be fine, but a smaller hit of nos may help u get an idea how it reacts may boost your confidence lvl.

No I went from a dry fogger to a wet direct and the initial hit is very different.
The direct dry is reported to be just like a wet hit.

I will let u know.
I have only ran wet systems.
I just installed a dry system (fogger) Muzzy
same shot just different delivery method.

I have no dyno numbers...
Mind u I am going to a dyno to set the system up...
I will have the results for a fogged system, just not a wet system.

Did you have to get a separate WOT switch? The zex instructions are kinda vague,it has 2 white wires for the TPS but their not labeled which one goes the the switch and which one goes to the solenoid relay? Which wire did you use off of the TPS?
