Power Wheelies Howdy,
If you do power wheelies and you keep the bike rolling on one wheel for prolonged time, does the position affect the lubrication of the engine?
Thanks & Regards,
David

Yes, long wheelies starve the engine of oil. My buddy's engine on his 929 is a POS because he wheelies so much it leaks oil sometimes. Unless you're a stunter there's no need to ride a long wheelie. You'll be fine for about 1/4mile of a wheelie, I'm sure, w/out any problems.

Thanks Nick, I'm still not into the stunting stuff and I do not pretend to become a stunter, but it's good to know from the experts in case it might happen. Ya'know after seeing Ghostrider wheelie videos I might want to give it a try someday.
KawaB, you're right... but my "prays" were answered and you two guys showed up with good answers.
Thanks & Best Regards,
David

I'm no expert (mechanic or stunter) but I've heard you can overfill with about 1/2 quart of oil to help reduce any problems from riding long wheelies.
Just a thought...

If (any) engine is overfilled and the crank can reach the oil - not good.

Thanks again guys, I guess short wheelies (less than 1/4 mile) won't hurt my Baby's heart. I will definitively leave those for the time I get a good damper (better safe than sorry).
Best Regards,
David
