On the leather Jackets, NJK leathers are nice and fit really goo, as well they had a sale on that when you bought a leather one you got a textile one for free. Just a thought

Little known fact about SYED. they do a lot of the custom work for AGV and a few other companies.

While I am far from a new rider (30 or so years experience), I only started driving sports bikes a few years ago... I noticed that every time I was riding with a group of experienced riders I was losing them in the corners (never had an accident but with a wife and four kids I was chicken to test the limits of my driving or my bike).
Last summer I signed up for a fast course at a local race track. One of the stupidest decisions I ever made (was not doing it 30 years ago and every year since!). Not only did I come out of it knowing for certain that I will never get close to my bikes capability in most situations but becoming a much better driver as well.
As an added bonus I had by far the best time of my life (I hate to admit it but it was better than sex with a 25 year old blond).
Needless to say even at a rather steep price of 800 a day I have signed up for two more courses this summer (retaking the level 1 and then the level 2).
So if I can give any advice... if you want to have the time of your life and have more fun on your steady ride. Head to the track take a course and then hit the track every chance you get.

your only fooling yourself thinking a combined weight of 550 lbs, can hang with 825 lbs on the same size contact patch....
the physics of momentum tell me it can not be done....
that said, some good riding tips have already been mentioned.
The zx14 is extremely undersprung and underdampened for your weight.
Better suspension will make a world of difference. 
Ask FBA what he thinks of the suspenion on his 14 , after the ohlins and springs I sold him....
550 lbs vs. 825 lbs! holy shit! which litre bike or even 600 weighs 275 lbs less than a zx-14?

zx 14 = 550 for bike 275 rider
600 = 380 for bike 170 rider
Pretty much what I'm up against. Maybe the 1000 at 430 bike and 180 rider = 610.
Anyway, the rider makes the ride. I'm improving each time I go out. Someone posted that the speed fades the more you ride. It's like going from dial up to DSL - waiting for the computer screen while online. When you first get it you think its fast as sh--. Then you get used to it and want more (cable). This past weekend,since I picked up a few tips, I was riding with a guy thats done a lot of track time on his Ducati factory and he said he was impressed with my cornering on the "big bike". Only have a couple of strips on the right side left. I can't wait till the next ride!

thats for a road race suit........
my suit has no turtle hump, no knee sliders......., etc
All hidden pads with no seams, looks like your classic black vanson, bates, etc, but made by syed.
Thier chrome letters are nice.......

And then when you think you got all them 600's nailed to wall, some guy in a Ducati 916,996,998,999 or 1098 passes you in the corner while switching songs on his mp3 player.

haha I get your point Bonzai, but that shit aint happening to me. It's possible I could (someday) get passed in mid corner, but I can goddamn guarantee you that whoever pulls it off is shitting bricks, hands panic frozen to the grips, tires sliding and mere millimeters from the grass on the exit. And he will regret trying it when all is said and done. Why? Because I'll swing abreast of him on the next straight, on the wide side of the next corner, and induce him into too late breaking for the inside line. He can pick his ego up along with his bike from the gravel.
Now if he maintains his cool and doesnt let me goad him into that mistake, then I'll bow to his very superior skills.

going from dial up to dsl is a great analogy lol, i spent all day sat. on a 06 cbr600 and ran the piss out of it but i felt like stan slowowski the whole time, like i wasn't even going fast enough to get a ticket. everyone has their own grove, don't push too far too fast, the only one to impress is yourself and have fun with the beast

lost sight of the topic , might want to look into joe rocket gear also, they have good cuts for bigger guys and a lot of cycle shops carry the brand so you can try it on before you buy and the quality is in line with the price

Anyone have any opinion of the 2CTs for the sweepers and corners? Michelin says they are a step below the Pilot Race.
