Just another Fender Elim. Kit.

Yo!

Nothing special here, just what I did to eliminate the rear fender and relocate the plate on my ZX-14.

Goals ...
1. NOT drill a bunch of holes for wiring/mounting.
2. Keep plate up high as possible, and more towards the back.
3. Keep a clean install look.
4. Have proper lighting.

I started off by using the Speed Tactics bracket ...

... then for a frame and LED lighting combo, the Street Magic illuminated frame ...
(note the recessed mounting holes that use flush mounting hardware.)

After it was all put together ...

The wires for the LED frame are teeeeeny. They are I guess made to route through frames on Harley's or such. Made it very easy to conceal the wires. I drilled a teeeeny 1/16th hole right at the bend of the bracket and fed the wires up into the tail to connect to the stock harness. Even with kneepads and a flashlight you'd have to search hard to see the wires.

I did drill two holes above the plate slots to move the plate up on the bracket. The gap between the top of the frame and the bottom of the tail is about 1/6th of an inch.

There are 5 LED's under that top lip of the frame. They provide adequate lighting from above across the whole width of the plate.

Sweet and simple, under 50 bones.

Where did you buy the bracket? I purchased a fender elim kit but it sat too far under the tail and whenlowering and extending I mashed my plate. This looks like a great idea.
