LOL wow, just think how quick you will be at 64"and an air shifter. Close to 4.90?

He's in Iowa, but he has not said where he runs. Maybe I can get him to cedarfalls this year and see some 1/4 mile times.

Bently, how do you like your Busa compared to the 14 that you used to have ? I've been ridng on '06 14 and an '08 Busa - and the 14 seems easier to ride fast but the Busa makes more power and torque on the dyno. The best I've seen one go was (high 5.80s) compared to the 14 mid (5.70s) and the Busa is 2" longer.

Like it, Can't really say if I like it better or not to me they Both ride about the same. For me looks wise I like the Busa but then again I don't dislike the 14. I have not had a chance to run mine since I put exhaust,pc, air shifter on. track opens in 2 weeks! I don't see how it can be slower then my 14 as it has a little more hp, But I don't expect it to be much faster either. I expect 9.30's stock wheelbase. I went a 9.42 on the 14 and then added 4 inches if I would have stated stock wheelbase I could have went 9.30's on that as well. for my style I can 60 ft the Busa much Better, But I don;t feel it's the bike just my clutch hand. I will post results after track opens, we have three 08 Busa going opening day 2 with good riders one with a 260lb beginner.

There's suppose to be (3) '08 Busas coming to Shadyside tomorrow, I guess I'll see 1st hand what the difference is. I still have 100k+/00 on standby if they're not extended. I KNOW they are watching and reading ! (LOL)

Same here ... We have two light weight pros here with 08 busas.... Best they can muster is 5.80s while Jesses zx14 and my zx14 went 5.70s and high 5.60s ...One of them sold his 08 Busa and got a zx14 ..

Just because they dyno a bit more than the zx14 doesn't make it faster at the track ..Remember a dyno is just a tool and doesn't show HP with ram air going down the track ..I think the Ram air system is much better on the zx14 Vs the Busa..

00, what time will you be at the track tomorrow and are you running the 14 or 00Busa? I'll have the front strapped along with the new Short Meg & track map in. Should be there around 2:30 or so. Have you talked with Matt yet?

00, maybe you can help get my suspension dialed in, you know i need all the help i can get.

qwick, when are you gonna get a lane on that thing, i know you didnt spend all that $$$ on that s-meg, to be a noisemaker! lol

I hate you all... I'm doing a functional check flight tomorrow to make sure that our helo is safe to fly in. Sounds safe huh? Have fun and ride safe. You guys better take lots of pictures to send to me in e-mail form so that i can actually look at them without having to wait 30 minutes for them to load. And by lots of pictures, i mean everyone take pictures of each other too so that no one gets screwed. I always end up taking pictures of people racing and never end up with any good shots of myself.

I'm "riding" 00 to the track and Bryan is pulling the 14. MR9 is too expensive for me to "drive" 60 miles of it out on the 14 (LOL) Besides, there's a stock wheelbase '08 Busa wanting to challenge me ( 00 ) on the way up there...60 miles is a LONG way for him to drive to drive with just a 2lb bottle-that he doesn't think I know about. !!! He has no air-shifter and by the time he gets to 3rd--- I'LL BE GONE !

Hey Chad, that 08's gonna need more than a little juice in his bottle. 00 ain't your average first Gen Busa... it's a sleeper, no doubt about that!!! And to say that it runs strong would be the understatement of the damn century!!! As for the Old Man piloting the big Busa bird... well, let's just say he ain't ready for no rocking chair yet!

Thanks Qwick, we put a "little" $200.00 incenative on it after I won it from him on BOTH of the Final Four games last night at Chiefs. He actually went to a 41T rear from a 43T rear so he can hit the GAS in second. Obviously he has "no clue" about acceleration ! The '08 is strong but he's trying to pull too much gearing---even with the GAS.

2T in the rear isn't that big of a deal. From what i saw out of the busa that i rode it could actually stand for a little taller gear on the bottom. Remember that it takes 3 rear teeth to equal 1 front tooth. If anything, it's not going to help him out near as much as he wants to think that it is. A friend of ours ported his banshee and couldn't keep the front wheels down so he bumped up a tooth in the front and it turned it into a screamer that had a manageable launch and was damn near untouchable on the big end. I'm a firm believer that if you've got the power to pull a taller gear without it affecting your bottom end, then there's no harm in it. I usually run 4.62's in my comet, but it's fastest times were turned on 3.55's.
Now, if it did hurt him that bad from the dig then he's just squeezing to make up for lost acceleration anyways which is a mute point.

His GAS and his gearing didn't help him today against 00 but he wouldn't run me at the track. Also I went a 5.688@123.56 on the 14 today !!! Along with a 5.703, 5.706, 5.709 - Qwick and Silver08 were there to witness. I need an air-shifter BAD with 16/43 may have to go back to the 42T rear. I think Silver went his best pass so far this year.
BTW, I had a 1.378 60ft on the 5.68 run.

I didn't run Kevin's bike today. Several cars leaked fluid on the track and we had a lot of down time. Plus I was trying to get used to the 43T gear and only end up getting 7 passes all day. Only 1 of the 7- 08 Busas ran and he had stock exhaust and lowered, with his best being a 6.35 at 116 plus he's around 190 lbs. We did lots of roll-ons on our 60 mile trip back home and one of them with a Brock pipe and lowered ran pretty well. I probably only pulled on him because of the gearing. He said it made 193.5 hp and only had 164 miles on it.

thats an easy fix, tell them you will run them on 00 between spartanburg and atlanta, $1000 a run, and they can see when "the bottle runs out". by the time you hit greenville, you will have enough cash to buy an 08 to play with.
