87, I agree with you for sure, noise sometimes does make you think that the throttle response is better (experienced that with my Vmax). And if it hadn't been for me running my Qwick Pipes (which are equally as loud as the Smeg, or a tad louder, lol) before the change over, I'd probably tend to believe that was the case here too, but it really isn't.

87, What are you going to do on the mapping? Do you have anyone in that area who can custom map it for you?

Well, from a summer of mapping my bike myself, I have a good idea of what works and what doesn't, simply by riding the bike. I almost always rode to work last summer with my laptop in my backpack. So at lunch time I would go out and tune...I started with map M224-012, made 171rwhp SAE on the dyno. But don't be fooled, there was a ton of driveability to be had, and when I was finally happy with what I had....throttle response, and low end power was awesome. When you make a map change in one area and go right back out on the same streets, you can easily tell differences in how the bike accepts throttle inputs.
Ryan Gill, CDN superbike engine builder here in Toronto will get the honors of running my bike on his dyno. Likely will tune for hp up top, but go rich for the map....and do a bunch of 'tip in' and cruise simulations (with the wideband in the pipe) to get a base map for me to tune with on the street again, just as I did last summer!!
Anyone have a goo dmap for me to try?!! Takes only 10 secs to change maps on the dyno, and only 5 minutes stopped in a parking lot on my way to work!!
Now if it would only get warm outside!!!!
