Hey Paz, do you think the passengers feet would be ok with the pipe? I'm planning on purchasing the Alien head and I'm curious how it would affect my wifes feet when I get it.

Good luck I tried to get the answer to that question for about 6 months and finally gave up and got the standard smeg. That and Brock recommended it if I planned to run Nitrious, which I do. Love the look of the shorty though! Great sound bite, I think I'll just play on a loop for a while!

Nice!

is the point of this pipe looks or does it make more power? seems the trade off is more noise in your's and your passenger's helmet?

Nick no problem with passenger peg blows below the peg, It is loud very loud video does not do it justice. I have not heard the standard smeg so cant compare. Have had numerous guys tell me its the most awsome sounding bike they have ever heard. If anyone is doubting a Brocks system dont you wont be sorry.

I'm all about the brock's systems! just seems the short one would put more noise in your helmet than the longer version of it, was wondering if a comparison has been made

I agree with ya Dubious... That's probably the only time that I would wear them either. I rode for about an hour yesterday with the new Short Meg around town and out through the country and I didn't have any problem at all with it being too loud. Keeps the cage drivers on the 4 lanes from changing over onto you too! They might not see you, but they sure can hear ya... safety feature if you ask me.

Yup, I have been preaching that the ALP HORN is proactive, while the factory roadrunner horn is reactive, and a joke!

a quick throttle blip/ stab of the clutch, before passing and they KNOW your a commin!

ricolla .... ricolla ... LOL :P

my German wife laughs.... she's the one that called my smeg the "ALP HORN! LOL

she's a good woman, hasn't ever asked me to wear any of those funny shorts or socks.... yet at least....

If I'm going to be out riding hard for over an hour out in the country I wear plugs. It's not for the pipe, it's the wind noise that destroys your hearing for the long term. Not wearing them will make you one annoying person for others to talk to when you age, because you won't be able to hear shit. They even talk about it in the latest SPORTRIDER magazine because too many people don't realize the importance of them to prevent wind damage to the eardrum, because it gets loud from longterm exposure.

Noise??? Music, to "Our" ears... noise to others? Maybe so.

But either way, it doesn't sound near as bad as some of the cruiser bikes that are running around with straight pipes, that's for sure!!!

And unless you're romping on it, the Smegs just have a low, deep tone to them.

----- You got that right Dub.Iam to old for sex. What iam trying to say is mabey 6 HP more at 9500 just does not due me any good the way I ride. Had all Brocks stuff on two Busas and just like saving money for beer. No one in this town to race at 10000 RPM anyway but plenty to race at 4 or 5000 RPM. Someday we should have a torque contest at 5000 RPM..Sorry but the rocket has made me a torque freak..Dub,keep it in your shorts..TEHE

I don't know what the numbers are below the curve as you guys are asking, but I can tell you that I have been riding 2 different 14's for nearly the past two years, set up 4 different ways with exhausts and after recently installing the new Short Meg, nothing has had the kind of instant throttle response and power right off of idle and all the way through to redline. It's as if this system has allowed the full potential of the engine to come alive in ALL areas of the rpm range. Ain't missing nothing down low... or in the mid-range, that's for sure! And it's still very smooth and enjoyable to ride.

And you're right 87... darn thing sure does sound good too! lol

Well, I do wonder if noise makes one think the throttle response is better, etc.....

None the less, I just put on FULL Orient Express TiForce (or whatever you wanna call it!) exhaust and with shitty mapping, real lean, cold roads, 40F, I can surely say, 2nd gear power wheelies are as easy as they ever were with slipons!! So what's a few ftlbs of torque really on such a powerful bike?

Yup, Brocks got the sweetest sounding meg!!!!
