I've spent many, many hours (days) testing and modeling the zx14 exhaust port. We actually do not CNC the exhasut port bacause of the need for that (lip)
That shape is there to promote tumble in the port (bad)to mix the fresh incoming air into the exhaust stream. It also has an effect on wave reflection (good). Reducing the flange floor area by about 25%, to about 3/8" in the port will increase the flow volume, reduce tumble, while maintaing the needed velocity.
You should be very carefull thou if you want to modify that exhaust port. Its a tricky one.
Once you get above 1500cc or use nitrous or a turbo then its a whole new ballgame. The port requires major modifications.
