A real world shakedown on the 08 14................why is it so rich from the factory............what are the differences in hp from stock, to stock with a pipe, to piped and mapped??????? Can't wait for those numbers.........

It appears they are going to pass on the 08 and wait for the 09 to see how Kawasaki responds to the 08 Busa.

No, they are not passing on the 08. Brock does a lot of real world testing on the track. Unfortunately, the weather there has not been very suitable for testing. They just got a new dyno that is in a climate controlled room, so that in the future they can continue to test in normal conditions, regardless of the weather.

I'm sure he will chime in when he is ready.

+1 @ Silver...I talked with Brock 2 weeks ago and like Silver said...bad weather, moving into the new facility etc...he has just been busier than a one legged man at an ass kickin contest. Be patient and all the numbers will come with time. Good things come to those who wait.

I'm starting to think you're right................

I'm confused.

Akrapovic has a full system only for the 06-07, NOT for the 08.
Muzzys recommends a different exhaust for the 08.
Brock says that his "old" systems work on the 08, no new design needed..

I'm not talking about bolting on - no doubt they do. I'm talking about optimum power.

So who's right?????????

From Brock... "It will be spring before all of the proper testing and tuning can be done on the 2008 zx14".

So like Kawa & Silver said, be patient guys. Brock won't let you down!!!

I'll ask again,
What has changed in the 08 zx14 that would require a different pipe?
Same bore, same stroke, same compression, same head. ...
different injectors and mapping,
both of which can be compensated for in the 06-07 with proper mapping.
Has anyone dynoed a 08 that have atleast 5hp more than the 06-07 on the same dyno?
5hp is acceptable variance from bike to bike with stock cam timing.

Yep, I'm sure he will be doing all the testing here in Xenia, Ohio. Home of the 1974 F5 Tornado. Kil-Kare dragway. It's about 5-10minutes from my home and his office and it is still crappy here. Right now we are dealing with cold rain and major flooding. I will be at the track sometimes too. Tuesday's are bike only nights here at the strip.

Full system fits. "Most" Slip-Ons fit either 06-07, or 08 only. The collector outlet spigots are larger on the 08 model.

the only thing changed on the head was the air injection port size, not exhaust port...

marketing has alot to do with what people are hearing....the old pipes work on the new bikes, and bolt up. some manufactures have made changes lately to keep up with the HP race, and their new pipes will work just fine on the old bikes too.

slip ons may be an issue , do to slight change in exhaust for 08, but full exhaust will fit on 06,07, and 08....
