OUT WITH THE 12, IN WITH THE 14 (PICS)
Hello all. I joined these forums back when I got my 2000 ZX-12 to learn all I can about the bike. I have since moved on from my 12 to obtain my new killer, a black 2006 ZX-14, full Muzzy, otherwise stock. Purchased with 1206 miles on it. Despite having to make a few adjustments the bike is in really good condition. I rode it this weekend from my hometown of Paterson, NJ to Newark with my club and the bike is blistering fast. It makes my old 12 feel like the what the 12 made me feel like when I ditched it for my ZX-11. ( I hope tha wasn't too confusing to follow.) Anyway, I jumped on here to re-introduce myself and gain as much knowledge about this bike before the season really picks up. I got two years of researching and questions to catch up on. Here are some pics for those of you who like pics.
BYE-BYE 12.

Thanks! I have a club member who now has a 10 and is looking to sell it because it's uncomfortable on long distances. He's is about 6'2", 260. He says the 14 isn't the cutest bike but it's starting to grow on him. I told him to ride my but and he will be sold.

Welcome the the world of possibly the most versatile, comfortable sport bike made!
Yup, 2 yrs now on my 14, and many many trips to the otherside of 180 mph...
the faster you ride it, the more comfortable the bike is,
super stable, confidence inspiring, and tons of midrange torque, blistering top end power especially when uncorked....
The 14 deserves the special place it has in my cerebral cortex, and heart...
an awesome machine....
been 5 months since I rode it last.... I am missing it alot....
The snow needs to GO!
Personally, i have always liked the looks of the zx14, with exception of the massive tail section...

Doobie! You're freakin nuts man! I LOVE THAT TAIL! Especially from behind! I let a friend ride mine around town while I rode his 1972 KZ650 and I was in AWE staring at the tail of my 14. It looks SWEET from behind.

Hey STARR. I didn't know you was on here!!!! Hell! I got two Joe Rocket 1-peice suits. One is a black GPX. The other is the Kawi Road Racing. Green/Black/White. Any other color bike and I would have to do a garage sale, lol. Besides, you heard them on here, the black one is faster. I probably get 10 more horse with a real good wax, lol. I know one thing for sure. THIS BIKE IS THE F*CKING TRUTH. I gotta check with the guy I bought it from to see if he did any mods or engine work because it doesn't make sense to be this fast.

The 14 sorta reminds me of a 10 on steroids. I like the tail myself. the only thing I miss on my 12 is the trunk. Kawi did us dirty on this hyperbike. could also lose the bench seat and would not lose sleep. My cowl hasn't been off yet and the bike looks disgusting without it.

That's what happens when you ride fast. You start typing fast as well, lol. We have few more weeks before the weather is finally good enough to ride at night without fear of losing your fingers to frostbite. I envy them boys down in the south. it's 70 degrees right now in most of the areas down there. I'm working up here in Leominster, Ma and they still have snow banks in the parking lots. I can't wait to get back home.

More familiar faces, lol. What's up? The way you ride, you DESERVE a 14. Hell! I might call Kawi and tell them if they need a nationwide billboard for their bike, you're the man.

If you are reffering to the stickers on the bike I put them on because of a few nicks here and there. Decided to balance it out on the opposing side if i had to make them look somewhat like they were meant to be there. Plus it defines my bike for now until I figure what I'm gonna do cosmetically. However, the bike WAS born as a race bike. It actually was the fastest 14 in the country for a little while. Ricky had done some passes on it as well. I know the guy who I bought the bike from and I can almost say I have witnessed everything about the bike for the past few years from the good and the bad. All the bad was fixed. The engine also had a partial rebuild by Ricky Gadson's people. Had my mechanic go over it real good as well and it was a go. Nothing major with the bike. I'm just working out minor stuff like my suspension settings, coolant level, tighenting stuff here and there but it rides solid. I got a really good deal.
