Modified Kickstand

Looking to modify stock kickstand, approx how much do you need to remove to accept 64" wheelbase with muzzy links on second hole. I have noticed that there are companies producing these with 2.25" removed from stock stand, does this sound acceptable?

I'm stock wheelbase, lowered 2nd hole Vortex and 3/4" in frt. I cut 1.25" out of mine, seems perfect. Make sure you get the angle right on the "foot" , mine kinda hits on the back corner now not flat like before. Not bad though.

I have Muzzy links and use them in the 3inches lower position. What I did was to lower the bike and then put packing pieces of wood under each wheel varying the thickness until the bike was leaning at the desired angle (with the uncut kickstand). Then, measuring the thickness of the wooden packing pieces, I cut that amount off the stand. I cut the foot off first and then cut down the stand by the required amount and welded the foot back on. Easy really and it worked a treat.

I cut about an inch off mine, an also where the kickstand hits the forward stop used a rotary grinder to groove the stand to fit around the stop so it will angle further forward. Now its very sturdy. Forks are slipped an inch and lowered an inch in the rear.
