servo driven butterflies

It's a well known fact that by removing the secondary flies, the motor breathes a lot better at the bottom end. Since the secondaries are servo driven, isn't there any way of programing the computer to open them earlier? Just wandering...

That would be a NO.... Many have tried and failed ....You can buy an 08 zx14 they do open faster than the 06 07 zx14 ...Best bet is to just remove them ..

Good question...As smokin said, no...If there was a way then we would have done it already...The most cost effective way is to just manually remove the flies...

But if you really feel the need to try it via ECU, im sure Vince Hill would love to help you!!!

I can't find the link that we last had on this issue...

Ninjafan. Have a look around, there was a BIG post from a guy who managed to get the flies opeing on command etc, but i think he got into A/F issues.

He put a LOT of TIME and EFFORT into it. In the end he admitted that whilst he could have the flies opeing and closing, it wasn't the solution that you are probably thinking of on the same lines as him.

Someone post the link to save this guy a lot of trouble

You can put a toggle switch with a 10K resistor in the GPS circuit and flip the ECU into 6th gear......but that does not reprogram anything - just trick it.

Fly's could be opened but without fuel computer, the mod was useless...

Easy to over think the "flys". Just take em out and forget about them. Hayabusa original one smaller engine bigger throttle bodies no secondaries no problem and no problem for the ZX14 either.
