Gear Box Twilight Zone

Hi Guys,

A couple of times it happened that when I reduce my speed by using brakes & engine (gearing down) to a full stop and try to gear into Neutral, I reach some kind of twilight zone cause the panel doesn't show anything where the gear display is, and I can't get it into 1st gear. Any of you have gone thru this?, any ideas of what it is or might be?
Thanks & Regards,
David

The output shaft is not turning when stopped, unable to mesh effectively.
make sure you are in neutral, 2nd or 1st gear before stopping, and problem is solved.

If you still have issue rock the bike a little bit while moving shift lever, it wil slip into gear then as rear wheel rotates output shaft.
Do not force the lever, as you can damage the shifter forks

the shifting will get much much better after about 3000-5000 KM.

Your most welcome,
ride smart and ride fast!

Thanks again Lyle. Very useful information, specially considering that my Baby has only 200 miles on her and I was getting nervous about her being screwed.
I know I should be riding her a lot more but....I have to work for a living. The good thing was that last Saturday wifey saw it and loved it. I took her for a ride (it was 12:30 AM) and she liked it even more, of course she felt that love/scare sensation but love was stronger. I got rewarded later that night
Best Regards,
David

Hi voss555, you and the other guys are more than welcome anytime here. As far as I'm aware, there are few 14's in Chile (probably not more than 10....maybe even 5). They are very expensive (US$17,500) and you can't find them in stock at the Kawi's dealer (special order only). So far I've seen only one which is owned by a Colombian guy who lives here.
Best Regards,
David
