revenge is so sweet
well after all the mods i did to my bike it finally paid off. I have the same ones as everyone else without a turbo or nos. Anyway i got a chance to race the guy that beat on me when i first got my bike back in 06. Hes a seasoned drag track and street racer with a custom set up busa. I raced this bike the last time and he put 2 1/2 bikes on me. He says hes busa makes 205hp on the dyno. Im sorry but that motor isnt stock if its doing that. Anyway I jumped him about a 1/4 of a bike and held him. It definitly felt good to see the 14 and all the work ive done pay off. I also ran a 14 set up just like mine 16/43 extended pc3 but mine has a smeg and a electric shifter with the flies out. He has a m10 with flies in and everything else being the same. We weigh 10 lbs different. Hes being racing at the drag strip where this was only my second race with this setup. He also had a u soft and i the regular 003. To make it short. He jumped me at the start by a half a bike. In 2nd and 3rd i walked away from him 2 1/2 to 3 bikes. Everytime we did it we had the same conclusion. Could a electric shifter and flies out make that much of a difference. I straight pulled away from him. Im 260 and he s 270 running pump gas. I could tell he was very unhappy after he showed me a video of him putting it on busas at the track. He said he runs 9.7 to 9.8 at the track. I guess all 14 arent created equal.

an air/electric shifter will give you 2-3 tenths. Having the flies out has to be at least a couple tenths also...I would think. Feels good to win races like that!

An Air/electric shifter will not give you 2-3 tenths unless you are a very poor foott shifter. and flies out won't really give you any tenths at the track as it does not raise peak hp. I don't even pick up a 1/2 tenth with air/electric shifter.

My guess is you have Brock Davidson exhaust and he has the Muzzy. Brock's Street Megaphone is probably far better than the Muzzy.

He probably followed break-in when he first purchased his 14. That's why his is slower.

yes i have the front lowered 1.25 and the rear in the 2nd hole on the muzzy links. I also put the race tech heavy duty coil on the shock. I started practicing yesturday. I have to tighten the rear up some. Im starting to rub another hole in the rear fender. I drag the clutch from 5000 rpm. Enough to raise the front wheel a few inches. My question is am i trying to keep the wheel up buying possibly reving more and drag the clutch. Or once it sits down just opening the throttle all the way. Im dumping the throttle once the clutch is all the way out.

I still think an air shifter gives you a couple tenths. When using an air shifter you don't have to chop the throttle a bit when shifting, the system kills the engine for that millionth of a second for that quick shift. Unless you guys with more experience just keep it pinned when shifting and bang the shifter up or down however you are set up. Of course I could be poor at foot shifting! The whole flys out thing I was just guessing being that you lose some of that low end. I always thought getting out of the hole was most of it, 60ft etc. However if you are a good enough rider you are probably launching far enough out of that still having fly zone low end bog.

Brock's pipe/map was what made the difference. My .02.

Flies out and Brocks pipe, thats a recipe for success against most modified Busa's.

Actually flies out will give you a couple of tenths for the simple fact that you have more control of the power getting applied to the ground. With them in, You almost have to launch high to keep from bogging the motor so it requires mroe play with the clutch!
