The rules are here. http://www.amadragbike.com/ They all have to run the same size turbo, be at 64" wheelbase, etc. The 1000 is probably close to 100lbs lighter making the same power with a 100lb rider on board. I know they have min weight requirements but the 1000 still has the advantage.

apples v/s apples
With regards of the zx14 turbo v/s the one liter turbos; the lighter 1000 turbo will definitely get moving without as much power due to the lighter package. However I believe that the Adams/Gadson bike and my bike (Jones/Gadson) will be potent weapons within a short time. I spent the weekend chasing some chassis issues (bent swingarm/shock) that were results of the December accident when Victor Gotay went down. I drove back home to Florida Friday night and got a new swingarm from the shop, and Coby Adams provided me a shock. We got it back together in time enough to qualify #3 with a 8.13. First round Richard went 8.03@189mph. Second round the gremlins got us when the bike did not fire, due to a weak battery. 100% my fault, one simple thing overlooked. Can we all say battery tender! With that all said, back to the real issue, apples v/s apples. The figure of 350 hp on a super street zx14 turbo is grossly incorrect! It is possible to produce more than 450hp with a 54mm turbo without any problems. We need to improve our 1/8 of a mile numers by 2 tenths. And that does not involve increasing any horespower, just getting a good combination of gearing, clutch, and boost management. We are picking up 40 to 48mph in the back half. And that 189mph pass was made with only 20 pounds of boost, so therefore we are not lacking on power and still have some left in reserve. So don't throw in the towel just yet on the old fat kaws! I thought this was the zx14 forum.
best pass numbers, 1.45 (60ft), 3.68 (330), 5.38@147 (1/8), 6.81 (1000ft) 8.03@189.23 (1/4)

We actually used stock gearing on the bike on the 8.03 pass, but we will probably be going a little shorter (17/43) gear when we test again. Hopefully with a little shoter gear, and a little more static pressure on the clutch, it will get things moving a little quicker to improve our time up to the 330 mark. Right now we think we have a good handle on chassis set up and boost control; Richard said the 8.03 pass felt very mild, and that the chassis was planted to the track enough that I could feed it some more power the next time out. We plan on testing within the next two weeks. We also plan on changing the stock wheels for some BST's and reducing weight any way we can. We got to get that Kaw on a serious diet.
