Off topic but need help
Hello all,
I have a small problem moving in across the street that has the potential to be a big problem.
A place called solutions for life is moving an adult coed halfway house into my subdivision they plan to rehab the mentally challenged back into society but they can also house childe molesters drug addicts and Rapists.
What I need is a video surveillance system that I can check up on my wife, kids and house over a internet connection and also record all activity on the property.

i'm sure you're not the only one who is opposed to it. get your neighbors to organize and petition against it. that's what I would do anyway.

There is nothing you can do about them moving in. As long as they are not running a FOR PROFIT bussiness then the zoning whether commercial or residential is not an issue. I had a child mollester move in next door to me about a year ago(i have a 3 year old daughter) I talked at legth with the police about whether I could do anything about it, I cannot. Of course on the good side because I live in a fairly small community the police do now patrol my street MUCH more often!!! But I also did a little preventitive measure involving my Glock 9mm and a face to face meeting with chester the molester and let him know in no uncertain terms that if he so much as stepped foot in my yard to pick up his sunglasses or even breathed towards my yard I would SHOOT HIM DEAD!! and then I made sure he got to meet my 90 pound boxer. But in response get in contact with a company called SMITCO. inc. they are headquartered in Rogers Arkansas, you should be able to find them on the internet Yellow Pages. The owners names are Brian SMith and Rodney Coats find either one of their numbers on the internet. They developed a system that is exactly what you want it is a video system set up that can be viewed through a internet connection the good thing about the system is not only can you view the camera but you can also move the camera and talk through speakers!! I have no idea how much the system cost but they should be able to set you up. Just so you know they own and operate a chain of Popeyes chicken franchises so video systems is not their business but they did develop this system and they have sold it to several companies. Good luck and my best advice would be get a good gaurd dog

I have a similar system and two state trained dogs. I would get with a guy on pycho bike twisties for me, I have talk to him in person about security and good dogs as we have both been in inteligance and security in the past he can give you some idea's. I have my alarm system set so if it goes off it releases the dog door and starts recording all area's of the perimeter. The dogs are trained to hold,not attack unless you are agressive or move. It works really good. You would be surprised what goes on at your place when it looks like no ones home. ITs comical some times, We are on five hundred acres and in the middle of no where in farm country but that means nothing any more. I would definetly keep a watch on those clowns, They never quit, I MEAN NEVER ! Sex offenders have the highest recurrence rate of all the preditors. Go proactive and get with your neighbers and let them no you are all watching every move they make without harrasing them and the'll get the mesaage. Bill...

I would not go as far as to show him your gun......, but get the neighborhood involved......, and let the cops know for sure........
21 mph in a 20 mph zone is still speeding......., know what I mean........, other measures can be done. Its how the gangs in LR were slowed down. jay walking, parking tickets, dumb little tickets, but they got the idea.........

ya we are all opposed to it but it is going to happen any way this is a state funded project.
They purchase homes in rural neighborhoods typically out of city limits to avoid zoning.
We have a coven baring business in the sub but they are listed non prophet so they are exempt.

Thats the relay bad part the local sheriff didn't even know about it.
The only way we found out when we did is a plumber that was working on the house told us.
This is a small house meant for three people and there plans are to house six to eight nuts plus two nut keepers

Get a dyno machine and invite your buddies over to see who pulls the most hp. each weekend. I bet the neighbors will move in 60-90 days. If that doesn't work call Hillary. She has the solution to everybody's problems.

Yeah Nox I didnt think it was a real good idea to show him my gun but it worked... He hasnt so much as walked towards my yard this year... BUt Baron my boxer wont let ANYONE near the house if he doesnt know you and he sleeps at the foot of McKennas bed and my weenie dog Sgt. Pickles (daughter named him) is an awesome gaurd dog too he will let you know when the neighbors get up to take a shit LOL

Well we got done at the commissioners meeting and we are screwed they think its a great plan and wont do anything about it .
So where can I rent a dyno for the weekends and every on is invited to my house for the dyno drags LOL.
But on a serious note I guess that I am going to have to spend a bunch of money to secure my house and family.
This is what I have in mind
1 Video surveillance that is recorded to a disc or hard drive and is assessable online
2 No trespassing signage in the yard
3 already got the dogs one German Shepard and one blue healer
4 pepper spray for the wife and kids and the big fire extinguisher size at the front door
I need help/advice for the video system the other stuff I have handled
any other Ideas that would help will be appreciated.
