Seeking advise on getting it off the line.

Okay, guys. So far everyone has be a big, BIG help. So, here it is: I'm on the line waiting for the light to turn green. What RPM would be a good starting point to learn how to best leave the line with a ZX14?
1. 3,000 rpms, drop the clutch and twist the throttle?
2. 3,000rpms, ease out the clutch, and roll on the throttle?
2. 5,000 rpms, let the clutch go like it's a hot plate, twist the throttle and hang on?
If there is anyone out there with any advise on the best technique please offer me some pointers. The last thing I'd want to do is stall the bike on the line and end up dropping it. It would be too embarrassing. On the other hand, I'd sure hate to leave too hard and end up looking at the sky with my feel dragging behind me. Thanks for any ideas anyone may offer. Aloha.

different strokes for different folks..... i would recomend just trying out different rpms and launching techniques until you find one that you are comfortable with,, then work on it... YOU HAVE TO BE COMFORTABLE....

i am 200lbs unsuited... i usually leave at 4500 (about) and go WOT and just ride the clutch a hair... im usually off the clutch by the 60ft mark... my best 60ft has been a 1.48 and im at 62"... hope this helps.,.,.,.,.,.,.

It makes a big difference how much you weigh what mods you have if the flies are out and you have lower gearing the RPM's and technique will be very different, if i remember right stock ithink i left around 6000 and slid the clutch out a lot more.....................with flies out and 16/42 gearing I launched around 5000 and let the clutch fly real fast, not popping it mind you but a quick release.........then when i added the pipe and power commander i started getting wheelspin, so now i launch around 4500 with a quick clutch release.

But like was said above if you want to see a real good rider launch watch the vid of Smokin.

I leave at 3 grand but I rip the throttle and damn near instantly drop the clutch! I am only a buck 30 though. Just practice not bogging the motor! But if you are not stretched, you better slide that thing a little before you decide to rip it or you will flip it or be replacing that oil pan you know!

Damn you make that look easy Smokin... Oh wait, actually you dont! lol

Stock wheel base and 320 pounds suited I can only dream of launching like that! My bike, for some reason, is a bit top heavy with me on it. I aint lowering it or stretching it either, because I hit the mountains with it whenever I can. Though I did rip a new Viper GTS with drag radials the other day from a stop. WTF he was thinking I dont know...
