Holy F-ing Crap!

Just got my bike back from the shop, where they pulled the 'flies, installed the new Muzzy M10 and a PC-III with Muzzy's map. The difference is startling..

A few random thoughts:

This thing is fast. Scary fast, which of course is a Very Good Thing.

The M10 pipe is loud, but not in a bad way, more like in a nasty, snarling, screamy way. It's got a tiny little raspy edge to it. I really like it a lot, and don't find the volume unpleasant at all. I sure hope it's not too much for my neighbor though when I fire it up in the morning, what with him being an undercover narcotics detective and all. Sure hate interrupting his sleep early in the morning with a loud pipe.

Pulling the 'flies should be done as part of the pre-delivery dealer prep process. I'm convinced that the ZX would have beaten the '08 'Busa's in the quarter mile if they didn't have the secondary butterflies. Am I correct in understanding that they're only there to enable the ECU to over-ride my right hand if it decides I'm not ready for the full power of the 14 at that moment? Seriously, Kawasaki went to the trouble of engineering and installing an Automatic Buzz Kill feature?!? Uh. gee, thanks I guess, but really, if they want to save me from myself they're going to need to get a lot more involved than that..

Anyway, huge kudos to Muzzys for a beautifully made product, as well as great support. Curt (at Muzzys) was super helpful in getting me the '08 maps (with and w/o 'flies) and the tune is excellent. Best bang for the upgrade buck I've ever had, fo' sho', and it dropped a ton of weight from the bike to boot!

Cheers-

Johnny

I think the flies are a stroke of engineering genius... training wheels for squids!!

If you pull them, you take on all the legal ramifications of doing so. It keeps Mama Kaws tities out of the proverbial ringer so to speak.

And...then you get a full on bike that will run 8.s in the qtr. with the right rider and slight mods. Plus and all around fun, good looking bike

She WANTED the Jeep - Could've had anything she wanted, but after driving a Mercedes G500 and the Hummers she decided on the Jeep. (I mean, c'mon, it's loaded and still cost $33k... The kid ain't slumming!)

My shop does a bit of everything. We did choppers when choppers were hot, we do hot rods and customs, lately we've been developing a kit to install LS1 motors in Miatas in between everything else.

Cheers-
