quote: To give you a straight answer Cagey, yes the TRE-006 works as advertised. It eliminated the decel pop on my Brock piped ZX-14 and on several friends bikes. DO NOT install it on a ZX-14 unless you have removed the flys. It will slow down a bike with the flys installed. You will lose you're gear indicator (reads N all the time) and the neutral light still works. Go to Brocks site for an independent test result on this product. Brock also indicates there may be a slight loss at the drag strip using the TRE-006.
Did you install a PC as well?
THAT is what removes the popping......by pulling fuel from the lower part throttle cells.
I've not been able to get rid of all popping at all times.....and that's with -10 in some cells.

Jeez Ninja, pulling fuel is what causes the decel popping! The overlean condition doesnt detonate on-time and finishes its burst in the exhaust, or doesnt burst at all in the chamber and finally pops when it hits the superhot gasses from the other pipes. Either way, you get a pop. Add fuel, voila' problem solved. Which is what the Kawi did for it in nuetral. In gear, it's an emissions issue. The fuel on decel must not be very clean burning which is why they nearly completely cut out the engine on full decel - to pass emissions testing. With stock (high backpressure) exhaust its not a big problem, only when you free up that backpressure does it show itself. BUT: I can understand the loss of power with that TRE also. The computer obviously has different settings kicking in for fuel and spark delivery under load/ in gear compared to nuetral.

Is it true that the TRE-006A will keep your gear display on neutral(N)?

Yes, it does. That part sucks, I admit. Never had a (working) gear indicator before, either lol. Just getting used to using it... oh well, I hate that decel pop!

ninja 14, yes I had the power commander installed (from Brock with his map), Brocks street oval pipe with the air injection plug he furnishes installed. I also checked and tightned all the inlet clamps as Brock suggested. It still popped and backfired intermittently. Installed the TRE-006 and it hasen't backfired since.

To be expected; that's what the 006A is made to do. I'd do the mod with the resistor, but with the 16/43's, I'm always looking for 8th...

Ivan's TRE map pulls fuel from throttle position 2 cells....up to -10.
Even the stock bike pops - just can't hear it with those cans. It also depends on which gear you are in......... the ECU varies commands by gear. I've done my own maps and I can make it pop or not with the map or my right hand. I've locked it in diff gears and N with various resistors in the GPS curcuit and tried many combos. I've lost no power with the mods that replicate the TRE function - It's not rocket science.......
