Qwick, you and Silver08 are going have to get in some practice at the track. I was the "only" bike running at Greer yesterday and got PLENTY of passes. My best 5 out of 12 were 5.79, 5.77,5.76,5.75,5.72 between 122~123. I tried 16/41 but after 4 passes went back to 16/42. It still doesn't MPH like alot of these guys are getting. Not too bad for an OLD MAN ! ( As you two say !)
I also rode an '08 14 with a Muzzy pipe/PC, air-shifter, ceramic bearings at 6" over (16/43 gearing) I went 5.86 5.82 @ 123.56~124.12 !!!

16/43 made me have to shift to fourth in the 1/8th which is alright because he had an air-shifter. 16/42 had me right at the limiter going through the lights in the 1/8th, that's whyI tried 16/41. I didn't get into the 5.70s until I put the 42 back on. I'm at 62", the '08 was at 65". If you're footshifting the 43 will make you WORK ! How long is your bike and what do you weigh ? It makes a LOT of difference !

00, Matt & I pulled the flies from both of our bikes on Saturday. Nice!!! Great mod for sure. For anyone planning on this mod, stop by Lowes and go to the "Kleins Electicians Tool section". Get the 11 inch #2 screwdriver with the hardened tip, about $8. NO PROBLEM whatsoever getting the screws out, we did his 08 first & my 06 next.
Then we went for a test ride... now I've got a smile on my face that I can't get rid of.

00, now you need to take old Blue down the track for me and run a 5.90 (or better) while it's still running the stock header and Gen1 Qwick Pipes...that would be cool to see. With my injury, I'm grateful just to be riding to the track right now... Doc kinda give me a Red Light on launching from the line while piloting a 500lb missile, lol. So you can do the honors if you don't mind. I'll even pay for the gas and I won't charge you mileage either, lol... what do ya say???

You know I LOVE A CHALLENGE ! Maybe we can get Silver08 to line up with me and help you get a little revenge. After riding that '08 yesterday I can attest that those things will FLY ! He told me today that his secondaries are still in it, maybe that why I didn't 60ft as well as I thought it should.

The young Lad would fall into a deep state of depression if the "Old Man" on the old 06 busted that 08. But now that you mentioned it... a little revenge would be nice, lol.

I truly don't expect the Blue 06 to be competitive with you or Matt until I mount up a full race exhaust system... and even then, my hopes would be to just stay close and give you guys some good competition. The mods that I've done so far are far beyond what I intended to do... it's addictive for sure. And you are at the top of the list of people to blame for my addiction, lol. I've just got to make sure that Qwickr doesn't learn of the mods that have been done to Qwick... cause this stuff could get very expensive around here having to buy double of everything. Shh, don't spill the beans on me with her when you see her at the track. What she doesn't know won't cost me double and if she ever wants to try old Blue someday, then I can set her gently in her place (cheating of course). Might even have to declare for a change in vehicle registration plates, lol. I believe I would even type up an official "looking" letter and mail it to her. Now that WOULD be funny!!! Just not safe!!!

I think you should do just fine with the 16/43 gearing. Just be warned that the shift from 1st~2nd will come very soon after take-off !

Ran a 6.18 at 119mph using the Qwick pipes... with lots of help from 00Busa!!! Not bad considering that the front wasn't even strapped. Lloyd only made two runs on my Blue 06 and had to short shift first gear to bring the front tire back down to earth and still managed to pull off a 6.18 with the 61 3/4" wheelbase. My hat's off to him... that was some pretty gutsy riding for sure!

Strapped & stretched another 2 inches and I believe it has the potential of breaking into the 5's. But that better be pretty soon... the days of my homebuilt pipes are numbered. Word has it that Brock's new Short Meg should be crossing the border this week enroute to Ohio. So for those of you who are interested in the new shorty system, keep your eyes opened for them very soon. And, for anyone who is wanting to keep the stock header in place and is looking for a "Qwick" & proven slip-on system, send me a pm with an offer.

I wished I had at least 2 more passes ( with a strap ). I know 6.00s are there, 5.90s well we'll see.
Thanks for the ride, see you guys when I get back from Daytona.

XL in blue for me. Pick Silver08 up something in red... to go with the chapping that he's gonna have on his A$$ after I complete my last mod to 06, LOL!!!!!
Now that WAS funny!!!! Just kidding MattDog. But I do hope to cut down that distance by a bike length or two. And don't be discouraged Matt, you'll be running in the 5's by the end of this summer... if not sooner!!!

I hope to bring my 60's down in my next few track outings. i cant run with 06 at the track, why bring 00 out? As long as you keep getting older, and i keep getting a little quicker, eventually, i'll be okay, lol
