Paint...

I was thinking of repainting the bike this winter and trying it myself. I thought about a whole new color change but i think i will just paint the lowers/george foreman grills to match and the catalyt seat. I was thinking of just spraying a pearl over the factory paint when i'm done.? I guess i just prep and spray over the clear then reclear? I have done paint before, but it was standard base coat clear coat, never sprayed pearl on anything. Somebody tell me if i'm right or wrong....

For the love of god please try it on something else before you do a zx14. I can only tell you of what I experiance everyday at our warehouse/ store. I am a technical rep/ feild instructor for PPG Industries. I see people everyday that HAVE to do it themself. Everyone of them have paid twice in materials what the entire job would have cost to have done at a reputable shop. The cost of liquids have gone up alot in the last several years. Use the standard rule of thumb, you get what you pay for. Another tip, the paint will only look as good as what it is applied over. Spend alot of time in prep.

It's not that i have to do it myself.....it's just something i want to try. I know prep is 90% of the work...
