I went to the track today!

My best time was a 10.55 @ 136mph. I know its not the best but I didn't expect the best either. I live in southern AZ and the elevation is pretty high here. I ran at SIR in Tucson, where the alititude is about 3,500ft. My average reaction time was in the mid .030 range with a best of .031. I actually ran my fastest time with a bad reaction time of .15 something. I got tree'd my first time by a lowered and stretched ZX12. He ran a 9.7, I ran a 10.8.

I was hoping to get a 10.2 but it didn't happen. You can read my mods in my signature. The way my my bike was set up was stock wheelbase, stock height, and stock tire pressure. I also weight about 230lbs right now. (I gotta get back down to my good weight of 210 or so) I wanted to take it step by step. Next I will install some lower links and straps, and lastly I will go with a 4" to 6" strech.

Not too bad considering I have about 20 total passes down any dragstrip on bikes.

Another quick note...I ran against an '08 Busa twice. I beat him pretty bad both times. I talked to him before we ran and he said that he used to own a '06 busa and ran 10.6's. With this new bike he only had 250 miles and was running around 11.1/11.2's all day.

I guess thats your average joe vs. average joe race. The ZX14 wins!

Not to flame but to help....

slam that thing... your wasting your time at stock tire pressure and ride height.
The bike will become much easier to control, and launch once you lower it, then once you stretch it, so will your smile....
at 5"sretch, and lowered 1" each end, I was launching at 5000 wfo holding WFO every gear each gear to redline... without having it get stupid, ot stand up straight...

Just do it, then practice perfecting your proper set up drag bike!
aworld of difference, you can't even imagine!

I am glad I saw you mods because when I saw 200hp 14 and then read your times they just didn't jive. I agree you definitely need to lower it to get a better launch, I went from 9.20s to 9.00s with extensions- hopefully the EIGHTS this year.

Never understand how no matter how bad you are you can't get a busa or zx14 in the 10s all stock. you can leave like your in a parking lot and roll on the throttle and run a 10.

Don't under estimate those '08 Busas, I've lowered, piped / PC'd a couple of them and THEY ARE STRONG !!! I still like riding the 14 better that the '08 Busa but in the end it'll be up to the rider. The Busa's actually dynoed with more hp but the '06 14 has kept them at bay so far.
