Lowering
I have the dog bones on the back of my ZX14 set on the middle setting. I would like to set it all the way down but I know it will bottom out with a passenger. What can I do to prevent this from happening? You guys have been awesome so far, help me out again please.

If both you and the passenger weigh under 150 LBS together, you'll be just fine.

This is tough to achieve, a Tiger Tail may get you the clearance you need but I can't guarantee it. Another thought is to stiffen the shock when you ride two up, just kaap track of your "clicks" so you can put it back for just you.

on a stock rear spring, you're gonna rub...unless you're both really light like Fastest stated. Stiffening the rear spring may not even help depending on the combined weight.

BE CAREFUL, I had to replace an ECU for a guy that rubbed a hole in his with bolt-on extensions trying to ride the girls at Myrtle Beach last year.

At stock length you'll be OK riding double, slammed definitely not !

the tiger tail doesnt work either.. It will last longer than the plastic stock piece.. but it will still rub.. I have mine extended and lowered, and it still rubs with 2 people..

i have mine in the second hole, sitting at 65in and i rode double without rubbing. both of us together are probably 350lbs.
my new setup will be tiger tail, stock spring, adams straight link and adj busa dogbones set relative to between the lowest and middle hole on 3hole links. the straight link should limit rear travel enough to get by riding two up.

There was a guy here in Chicago that made spacers to prevent you from rubbing but he has packed up and moved his business out of state. I had him do the suspension on my Busa and I had that on the lowest setting with an 8" over arm and could ride my woman all day long with out rubbin the tire.

if u use adams straight link rocker arm you will likely be stiff enough lowered with stock wheelbase for 2 up, , however will be to stiff when 1 up riding....
The drag guys are using this link to offset 10 over arms leverage advantage....
It changes the leverage ratio's over the shock.

problem is that with a strut, you will never hook, at least not on the two bikes i have rode.

you should consider an adjustable set of links and an adjustable kickstand. I love my setup. It takes about 15 minutes to set mine up to race. When I'm done, just raise it back up. I'm stretched 9" with a heavier spring, strapped up front. I purchased my adj. links and adj kickstand from spencers. BTW, the kickstand looks really nice once its powdercoated.
