JesseJames zx14 turbo update
Jesse will be picking up the turbo from CycleLogic Motorsports this Sat and dropping it off at my shop ...I allready have the bike and will be starting the install next week ...Dave at CycleLogic Motorsports has been very helpfull with Jesse quest for speed..
I will be doing a full story on the install as well a pictures so you guys can follow along ..I will also be adding a Adams oil pan and a Mac alum pro arm .. We are setting the bike up for 8 psi boost to start off with ( about 250 HP ) Jesse needs to learn to ride it before we get too crazy with the boost... After Jesses bike is up and running I'll be doing my zx14 with the same kit ...Jesse is in a bit of a hurry so mine will take back seat till we are happy with his set up ... But i will be making some passes on Jesses bike to help on the shake down runs ...I get to have some fun without spending money ..How cool is that !!! ...

I'll be interested to see how difficult the install is. Are you going to build the engine initally for big boost later or is this a stage 1. Anyway you fellows are going to love BOOOOOST!!

For now with the low boost we will leave the motor all stock ....As the boost levels go up we will add some J&E turbo pistons as well as some good aftermarket rods ...The Turbo is very safe at 8 PSI with pump gas but we will be using 110 just to be on the safe side .... Higher boost levels we will step up to C116 ... This is a stage one kit that we had Dave do a little up grade with an external waste gate....The turbo can make up to 400+ hp ... I would like to push the limits of the stock motor just to see what the stock parts can take before it goes pop ...But it's not my bike so that's not going to happen ...But my bike is a different story and i have a spare motor.... I really want to know what the limits of the stock parts and injectors will take .... My thinking is stock it will take a lot more HP if set up right...

Good luck, sounds like a fun but expensive project. will enjoy watching your posts and hopefully pictures. {you ought to at least drop your compression maybe with a thick head gasket at first. I've read somewhere that BigCC RACING was safe at 10 lbs of boost with stock injectors and pump fuel} Just a thought. I hope your clutch is beefed up a little with all the extra torque.

$4,995.00 and that includes a P/C and Maps ...So if you have a P/C the price will be a little less ...

Thanks Duncan... Yup a 140 foot pounds of TQ the clutch will need a little extra something ... Most likely a lockup will be on order ...

You change your mind every week. One week it's an engine build, the next it's a turbo. Is it for sure a turbo now? All that smack talk Wed night must have helped you make up your mind. Let me know if you start working on it this weekend. I'd like to come down and check it out and maybe turn a few wrenches.

I would run C116 from the begining. This install should be fairly simple.
Maybe that's me. I have installed three kits, one on a busa, my zx12 and my zx10.
all without intructions. If you need any help let me know.
I don't agree with pushing anything to the limit just to see what it takes to go pop!

Check this out ...Dave just finshed a new lockup clutch for the zx14 ... The best part is no need to send out your clutch cover for mods .... Paint the spacer black to match your stock clutch cover and no one will ever know you have a lockup clutch ....Sleeper look !!!!

Does that sleeper lock up come with an assortment of springs and shims???
What about a quick access clutch cover for ease of tunning???
Not to be a kill joy, but if you have a turbo, then what's so sleeper about it???
