Good baseline set up,

map, gears , shinko u3 soft, strap frt end, proper spring for extended wheelbase...

oh, and strip as many useless pounds of pork as you can....
if your not using it on the street remove everything you possibly can...
I love my 14, but damn they are heavy pigs.

dubious gave you great info.
they are great bikes and made for drag racing.
Lower your center of gravity as much as you can
The Catalyst Drag Seat feels good when your sitting in it.
It gets you low and supports you in back.

Hey DUB,speaking of weight,do the 06&07s have as much foam under each tupperware panel? I dont remember the busa having all that much.Yes its only foam but it must add up. Also do you guys know if it absorbs water when you wash it or is it a closed cell type of foam.Is the bike that noisey that they had to use that much foam for the EPA.Also whats the deal with that punney air filter. Its small enough but then they add that alum. plate (which I took off) to it.The busas surface area for the air filter must be 4 times as big.Not complaining just interested in Kaws theorys and trying to learn..Jack

The foam PLAYS A HUGE ROLE in reducing the amount of heat you feel on your legs!! I think the best and easiest way to shave weight if you are keeping it on the track areget rid of the rear seat cowl, the small fairing under the swingarm, the rear passenger pegs, switch to a smaller ZX10 front fender, toss one of the front brake rotors and caliper, get some lightweight levers and rearsets. And if you got all kinds of money start adding Carbon fiber: wheels, stator and clutch covers. Also I was talking to a guy the other day that went with all composite hoses on the radiator and the other hoses he said total that shaved about 3 pounds and only cost about 30 bucks total. Not to mention when you get rid of the stock exhaust you will shave about 40 pounds!! of course if you want to take it farhter I think Catalyst bodywork shaves some pounds if you do all the plastics and probably 15-20 if you go with a composite tank!! but the tanks are 800 I think>>>
