I just had my bike out for a ride...in the underground parking of my condo....ran it for about a minute...4 or 5 times. Did a few laps!!
As I just shut it off for the last time....some stupid Cnut is walking towards her car yelling at me, "it that really necessary, blah blah, fumes, blah, blah". I said "yup...it's just warming up, no different that any of the cars." (underground 2 levels, 400 cars I'd bet, or more!)
GAWD I hate nosey people!! As she drove away I yelled "SLOW DOWN!".
...she looked like she smokes cigarettes......

Should have warmed the tire for her and gave her a real reason to bitch!
Might set off the fire deluge systems though..... :P

yes that is correct, and without the 20 ohm resister the bike ran crap low down,
will try and post a pic tomorrow

a 20 ohm resistor is 20 ohms,
as long as the resistor is rated for the voltage you feed it, you will be OK
voltage squared divided by resistance will give you wattage,
as shown below:

p=power or watts
i = current- amperage
e= voltage
r = reistance - ohms

you need a 20ohn resister. i soldered on two wires to the resister . and then fitted to the orignal feed plug connecter

So you shoved each end of the wired resistor into the plug that was plugged to the solenoid??

All i could find was a 22ohm resistor, So i used that. It seems to be ok
Could you tell if it went into a "safe map mode"

hi
i soldered on a couple of spades to the 20 ohn resister wires, cut them down and fed them into the plug , and pushed a rubber sleeve i had over the top .
without the resister mine was definitly on some kind of other map, was running very rich low down , and when the throttle was snapped open in neutral , large blast of black smoke out the ex each time
think a good way to see if you are on safe mode, is to select the instant mpg readout on clocks, mine dropped to 36 mpg at 3.000 revs in 6th gear , and up to 47 mph when sorted

This is very interesting.
Where did you find this info davis?
I will have to try that and watch the duty cycle, and ignition timing to see whats going on...

Well? Results Dubious? It's been 6 hours!!! lol
I'm wondering if something like that is going on with my bike. All stock with just slip ons (PCIII, flies out this weekend), and it shoots out a good waft of black smoke on neutral revs. It also only gets 31 mpg on the freeway just cruising at 65. Any gas at all and its down to 28 mpg! I expect that kind of mileage AFTER all my mods, not before.
When I added the slipons it actually got a few better MPGs, but it was at 1500 miles and still breaking in so I dont know for sure it was the exhaust. Really annoying when everyone else with mild to no mods gets 35+ mpg on there 14's around here.
It's also not a weight issue, I borrowed it to a skinny friend of mine for a weekend bike trip with his wife, and he got the same figures as me. And yes, he is a really good friend who I know has less chance of wrecking it than me, and the money to replace it.

heh heh I never did get the real hang of riding a sled. Had fun on them, but damn those guys that knew what they were doing around me made me realize what a noob I was!
And how the hell are you supposed to steer those things down rutted fire roads at high speed??? talk about unresponsive! I'm fighting it, leaning off trying to make gradual turns at 60mph and guys are just flying by at 100+. ... I'm such a noob ....

steer with the rear, just like a jetski....
weight transfer, countersteering and application of power in unison....
They were probably good friends who removed the carbides to help ya out!

I wouldnt doubt that one friggin bit! It was a rental sled Im a big guy, but damn that thing wouldnt maneuver for shit! Used a friends on powder doing hill climbs, but any sled handles decent in powder. Was nice having that extra oomph that the rental sled didnt have! The rental would only go about 70. My friends sled supposedly went 125 on the gps. Amazing that the tread could spin that fast without coming apart. But he said its normal for the big bores to hit 120mph or even better. Sound right to you?
