I have seen a few Dyno's that indicate 169 RWHP for the 08 14...so, is the Busa more powerful, or are the ZX14 numbers low? RG had his ZX14 well into the 180's with nothing more than a few runs. Maybe the Suz is a ringer...

This is Cycle Worlds latest 08 busa test info:

This is directly from the Cycle World February 2008 issue page 33 sidebar article....quote "Tipping our scales at 552lbs without fuel, the new bike weighs 20 more lbs than last years. On the Cycle World dyno, the 08 busa put down peak numbers of 171.4 horsepower at 9650 rpm and 102.0 foot-pounds of torque at 7200 rpm. Thats nearly a dozen more ponies than its predecessor-and 1.2 more than the last Kawasaki ZX-14 we tested. Measured top speed as you may have guessed is limited to 186 mph. But it gets there quicker than ever, setting a new CW production-bike-best quarter-mile pass of 9.70 seconds at 148.48 mph along the way."

A couple hundreths quicker and 1.2 ponies stronger.....wow...what a dominator LOL

I don't believe the ecu will change after break in miles, it's just going to take a pwr commander to fix the air fuel ratio.

I wonder who made that one up -- ECU changing after break in miles...on some vehicles yes, but not this one.LOL

True dat, but me thinks there's not much if any difference between top end between 07-08...but RG's bike did say differently, so there may be. He got something like 197 with U4, flies out, a pipe, ceramic bushings and NO PCIII!

my 08 stock with 500miles on it did 169.x whp and a stock (as far as i could tell) dynoed 175whp. both bikes were dynoed within 20min of each other, he got 3 runs and i got 2. No fan on either. (my bike with 200miles on it dynoed 165whp on the same dyno)

two things:

i believe the bearings are much tighter in the 14 motor than the zuke, so they gain power as they "loosen up". the A/F on the 08 14 is way rich, while the A/F on the new busa is very good stock. i have seen a couple people only gain about 7hp from a full brock pipe on a new busa, while i believe my 08 14 with a PC and Brock pipe picked up a lot.

bone stock, the hp edge goes to the busa from my experience, both bikes with pipes, PC's should be very close.
