My zx14 after the rebuild.

Well about three months ago i went down on my ZX14. I didnt have the money to rebuild it with the stock bue pieces (which i loved) so i went a different route.

Did a little shoot today and thought i would share.

I will be adding more/better shots later.

LOL Na...next on the list are Vortex rear-sets. I love the sound of the two-brothers right now. and after the accident i am not in a huge hunt for power.

And the fairing scres are actually black spikes. Though i did have my other painted. It lasted for a little while, but PC would be a much better way to go

I love that flat black bro!
Looks really hot IMO! Mad max stealth style!
Maybe I don't need to wait to find my black liter bike, I should just find one any color and have it painted flat black.
I think the flat black looks especially good on the zx14 though... must be the lines.
Find a nice straight used gas tank and call it done bro!

Thanks very much guys. The zx14 does look awesome with the black, but i still cant decide if i like it more then the blue.

And yeah the tank is the only real major flaw that needs to be addressed. But it also acts as a good reminder. And i love the stitching.

More photos later though. I was hoping to get some night shots, but it is 25F out by the time i got off of work.

Again thanks for the compliments guys, it makes a bad thing a little easier to handle.

WHo painted it, how much did it cost ,and I wonder if it will hold up?? I would like to paint mine like that but I damn sure aint using spray paint, that shit will come off if a bug hits it. Anyone know who makes a descent flat black paint? It should be cheaper to paint too as I would assume you dont need to wet sand or do near as much prep work for a flat paint job

I just cant bring myself to give up the quality of the factory paintjob for rattle can paint, I am gonna check with my body shop and see about getting a flat black paintjob. I dont mean that as a knock on your bike KC I understand the budget problems and I would probably go that way after an accident to save some money I would just be concerned if the spray paint will hold up over the long run

I agree with you Blackmagic with the quality of Kawasaki's paint color scheme and quality.but you got to admit that his choice was original and looks sweet as hell.....instead of pretty, it looks more beasty.

Yeah, if you dont have a reason to paint it flat black then i wouldnt. Even if a body shop did it, there isnt anything that will weather like the factory stuff. If i wouldnt of have the accident it would still be the 06 Blue it was. Love that stupid color.

And thats the nice thing, if anything happens to the current paint, i just need to tape off/remove the peice couple of quick sprays and it is like new.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I love the look of the flat black I checked a little while ago and my bodyshop quoted me 500 with me bringing the plastics to them and them doing the rest of the work, I think it will LOOK sick with my red chrome stuff

If you use the proper paint with the clear that makes it flat it will last longer than the factory Kawaski paint. PPG has every thing you need..Jack
