Welcome to the addiction. Been going for 33 years. (from the East Coast.) 2007 was not a good course for BUB. That is one factor that makes racing there difficult. I admire all who try. Will you return, and if so what is your speed goal? LSL

Larry,
The course was tough that is for sure. Every time I went above 185 the rear tire would break lose and the ride would get wild. I would stand up on the pegs and it would settle down - and then the ruts would make it shutter on occassion. I loved the experience but - I do not think I would ever run wet salt like that again - at least not WOT. My primary goal was to match some old records from the fifties - Russel Wright on a Vincent Black Lightning - the last time the outright Land Speed record was set on a production based bike, and the last one not set at Bonneville - it was the end of the era. That record was 187.15MPH - I matched it at 184.7MPH - I also hoped to match his Bonneville run from 1956 - 196.3 average with an ideal goal of hitting 200MPH - but with the salt I could not get there. I will run Maxton this year - and may return to Bonneville in two or three years - It is an awesome experieince - but a really expensive and demanding adventure also. I am also toying with the idea of a turbo Busa build - maybe chase the NSU and Texas Cigar records from 1956...... as I recall they were both blown set-ups.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
