Alright, looks like I haven't stepped on any toes yet... here is a link to the install thread
http://www.zx-10r.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19436
the 10R and 14R are the same...
there is a pair of tabs inside the grip housing that need to be removed or they will rub against the insert and cause it to drag or hang... THE GRIP MUST SPRING RETURN INSTANTLY TO IDLE WHEN RELEASED... if it doesn't there are a few things that can be causing the problem... all of which are easy to fix once identified.
I can answer any questions and I have a few pix
here are the tabs that must be removed. I use my milling machine, but it can be done with a dremmel or file... the important thing is to make the SIDES flush... the bottom flush is not so important, but the sides must be flush with the rest of the housing.

here is after removal

silver08, yes, it's in my back pack, it will ship tonight after work.
Thutch, will do as soon as I'm done with this post.
I'm going to link the install thread in my signature... it will take you to ZX-10R.net but it's an open area.
Is there an area on this site that I could post the install thread you ya'll will have access to it here? do you think anyone will have a problem with that? I only say that because I got my chops busted over at Gixxer.com for posting the information... yes, I did sell a few, but I want people to have the best bike they can have... I'll even explain how to "do it yourself" with epoxy putty if you are a do it yourselfer.

Very simple to install...you'll see that on the inside of the housing are some slots that stick out that need to be grinded off....I grinded mine with a 1/4" drill bit!! Also the edge on the inside needs to be flattened some...you'll see once you look in there. Takes only two mins to take a look.

the theory of operation is simple, you are basically changing the "gear ratio" between the grip and the throttle body actuation cam.
you need to get enough extra cable slack to accomodate the larger diameter grip (most people can just run the adjustor(s) all the way in and that will provide sufficient slack, some need to cut off the locking ring on one or both of the adjustors... and a few have had to remove 2-3 threads off the threaded part of the adjustor to get enough slack... I have beveled the insert so it requres less extra slack but kawi was pretty stingy with the extra slack on some machines.
clear any obstructions inside the housing (little tabs), some bikes have kill switch wires, starter wires, throttle cable wire housings that stick into the area where the insert goes and need to be rerouted, or removed.
put it all back together and tention the cables, test to see that there is free motion and spring return to idle... adjust if necessary.
take it out for a test drive...
try and wipe the grin off your face.

I just received my quick throttle insert from rifleman_duce today. When the weather warms a bit (my garage is not heated) I will let you all know how the install goes. If any of you have installed one on the 14 and have any tips beyond the instruction thread that would be great.

BigBlue,
Let us know how it goes. Anyone want to chime in on how the quick throttle is in day to day street riding? I mostly ride on the street with the occasional track day.
Thanks guys!

I want to try one also'' What i have been doing is using liquid steel and build it up around the outside of the buckle. It is a hit or miss project this way,and my 06 i got just wright but i dont want to install this on others bikes! I have guys gain mph in the 1/4 with the shorter turn throttle and its because they werent getting the throttle all the way open, and also there's no problem on the street,if anything its a better setup. I will get in touch with you.....

I've had mine about a year now, only takes a day or so to get use to it, but it is quick!
Don't let anyone ride your bike without giving warning, I love it, more consistant track times for me.
It is a little heavy on long rides, long meaning over 300mi, but that is what my cruise control is for.

I've had rifleman's kit for a couple years now. You quickly learn to be careful! Kinda the same as the first time you ride a ZX14, make sure you have both hands on the grips if you blip the throttle!!
Install takes ten minutes. You will need to likely play with your cable adjustment, to get the on-off cables equal. I used a 1/4" drill bit on the cordless drill to grind off the tabs that rifleman has posted pics of in this thread. You have to get them cleanly off, and may need to file down the actual rifleman piece so it is not as high (kinda takes away some of the affect, but very minimal).

All PM's answered, I"m going to link the install thread in my signature so you can find it. It's over at ZX-10R.net...
someone actually did a few vids and some more pix when he had problems on his 10R with the install and it really shows exactly what to do when the install isn't going right. 90% of them go right in, no problem. A few need some proding to get working right.
I"ve answered all the PM's. We'll get everything taken care of.

ok, linked the install threads in my signature. the first one is very comprehensive, it includes all the stuff under the tank and air box if you need to go that far. I have done about 6 or 8 installs on the 10r and haven't had to go under the tank for any of them... but the info is there if you need it.
the second one is a guy who had a problem with cable slack issues. Kawasaki is very stingy with extra cable slack. the cables do strech over time, but if you have a new bike, it can be difficult to get enough slack... the second link addresses all the ways additional slack can be obtained and shows some perfect vids of what a grip is NOT supposed to do (directly caused by the cables being too tight) and what a grip is supposed to do when properly installed.
