Exhaust Being Installed, What Else?

Having my exdhaust done real soon with a pcIII. What else can I do to wake this thing up a bit that isnt going to break the bank. The bike is stock with the exception of some lowering links. Besised the obvious turbo or a bottle what do you guys suggest? Any help is appreciated.

Remove the flies, if you really wanna wake it up. Do a search here on"flies" and see what comes up.

Seth, pull the flies and see how you like it then---it truely is a different bike from that point forward. If that don't make you smile enough, drop one tooth on the front sprocket.

Then add the pipe, PC, and tune.

BTW, hang the Fook on after you pull the flies.

Definately pull those ridiculous flies. Thats the biggest thing you can do to an early 14 to make it perform like a big bore should. Then do the pipe/air filter/pcIII/good map combo and you'll be shocked ......in a good way
After I removed the idiot plates the bike now pulls so hard down low if I'm not ready I can hardly hang on. You twist the throttle and your GONE like RIGHT now! Front end up....back tire spinning...and hands slipping. Fun stuff

Thanks again MJ, that is exactly what I am looking for out of this bike. I know this really isnt a Busa friendly board but that is what I am used to and that is how my last 2 bikes have been. I dont know if its me but it seems like the bike will leave hard then when it hits about 6500 rpm it really wakes up. I'm lookin for it to be alive from coming out of the hole all the way through the big end. So if these "flies" are whats holding it back then it seems like a pretty easy fix to my problem. Thanks again gentlemen and I'll keep you guys posted on the progress.

When you pull the flies, your Busa memories will be long gone; it does pull harder than a Busa with them out, stock! I had 2 Busa's before my 14's. I've been there and done that. The rest of the mod's should only be done ONCE you've pulled the flies. You'll pickup at least 25 FT LBS of RWTQ at 3500 RPM....and that's huge. The next mod to get way more pull after that, is the sprockets. I did back and front -- and that's total insanity. Can you say OUCH?

Pipes and a PCIII together will not get you even remotely close in power to either of the two mod's alone, but would be a nice add-on anyway.

I just saw the link you posted in the other thread on how to remove the flies and thanks again. I dont know if I'm ready to do the sprockets yet only because I cant keep the front wheel on the ground as it is!! I'll pull the flies and do the exhaust even if it will be a minimal gain, I cant stand the gaudy dual cans from the factory. If what you say is true, it sounds like I am in for one wild ride once the weather breaks. 3" of snow on the ground here in Chicago=(
