08 and PC'D

Got to ride today with the 08 and the powercommander installed. VERY suprised at the difference. Pulls noticably harder through out the rpm range. The lower end was also suprisingly harder hitting. I didnt notice too much difference in my busa after the install, but this thing really woke the 14 up. The top end pull was probably the most noticable improvement. Any way I know there are a couple of you guys that were interested in hearing from someone with an o 08 and pcIII. BTW, I have a Brocks smeg and the map installed was the full akropovic from dynojets web site. Im interested to see how if any Brocks map betters this one.

Also BTW I installed the noise reduction plug from brocks, from 0 to 5K it makes a noticable difference in the sound volume, above that it still rocks. For around town riding and just general cruising I really like it. Brocks has as decible scale with and without it on his web site, but knowing that dcbs are not linear it really does give it a good sound with out any draw backs. I would reccomend to any one that has pondered the idea. Just off idle say 2500 and below is where it gives it a little gargled sound but above that it really sounds good.

Yeah, still getting a little poping, but not as bad as without. I live in Western NC, it was about 54F today so it wasnt too bad. Actually the wife and I went for a late lunch, she likes to ride.

Like others Im still undecided and awaiting the info from brock on the flie delima. I've never ridden a pre 08 so I dont know how bad the low rpms were. This bike really wakes up with just a PC so I'll just sit back and wait for the info to pour in.

Actually, here in Tampa, FL it's still above 60 deg and I just got back from a ride on the ZX myself (it's 9:22pm). Anyway, I have a few questions for you reward69: Did you remove the flies? Are you running a stock air filter or upgraded one? If you have not done either of those things do you plan on doing it? Thanks. Merry Christmas to everyone.

No, other than the pipe, PCIII, 16t front, its stock. I always just run the stock filter and change them often. I'm undecided about the flies at this point. Personally I think I'll probably take them out, but Im waiting to see what brock or someone finds out after some dyno time. Even if I do I may wait till the warranty is over before I do. I would hate for something to go wrong and have the dealership blame it on the flies being removed?? Personally I dont like them being in, even though its pretty strong on the bottom you still can feel them. After coming from a busa I like that low end raw power. I wouldnt say that its weaker than my busa down low, maybe a tick, but I hate having something with this much potential and not let her eat!!!!

The low end on the pre-08 (pre flies out) was pathetic...the 08 rocks, but when you pull the flies, watch out. No matter what you think, there's still a big difference between flies in and out on the 08. Already pulled mine on day one...the difference is BIG, not nearly as much as on the 06-07, but still BIG. Pulls a lot harder with them out...once you pull 'em, you won't put 'em back!

Am I correct to assume that I'll need to wait for a PC3 and a map to pull the flies or can you pull them stock? I'm waiting to see what's up with the M14 before I buy an exhaust. Many have stated that due to head changes etc. that 06-07 exhausts might be leaving some power "on the table" so to speak and therefore I'm waiting to see if an exhaust optimized for the 08 is necessary. Thanks for all the great info.

The low end on the pre 08 14's was beyond pathetic. I haven't rode an 08..but from what I hear its ALOT better down low. Removing the flies and adding a pc and tre to my 07 made a RIDICULOUS difference in low end power. Mucho mucho more It went from moped power down low to tire shredding, wheelie pulling power. Definately stronger down low than a stock busa
