i have a 1417 being built right now by Chip Hunter. and i plan on spraying 75-100hp. What pistons are you using? I was told that the ones in the muzzy kit will only hold up to 50hp. He took my balancers off my crank and had it balanced, Coby ported head and Coby cut Tranny. from what i understand he had Coby design a set of pistons that will hold alot more than 50hp and wiseco made them. "I think?"
Does anyone have any pics of a second fan installed? i need some ideas! send to thutch26@charter.net

I was wondering $$ also. Rudy at Quicktime is at $3800, pistons+cams+headwork (in-house). The Busa boys rave about Spaz, real interested to see what he does with the 14.

the only real diff from the 08 than the previous models is the bigger ports in the head, and the injectors are a lil diff. a full head job would do more then what the 08 head does, and as far as the injectors go, I'm not sure of the diff. but i bet it's minor. so as far as a comparison between the 2 BUILT motors. there would probably be less of a difference then, the difference between the 2 being stock!

definately agree, the farther from stock you take the 08 or 06-07, the less difference.

KWS told me they have only done +3mm 1450 motors and that they are reliable and do not run too hot for the street.

the only numbers i have heard of for a 1417 was 210 on MRX01. what kind of numbers is everyone else getting with 1417's or 1450's???

210 on a 1417 is a stingy dyno or a bad build.

I would talk to your builder, he will know what is safe. Be sure to tell him/her to make sure to stay safe with the motor. They often times build so many motors for guys with deep pockets and do not care how long the motor lasts. One thing I would really address is the spring pressure, I have heard of a few 14's spitting shims when pushed, this is an easy fix when you already have the motor apart.
