Powder coating exhaust?
Has anyone ever powder coated thier exhaust? Was thinking of powder coating my muzzy carbon fiber slip ons. Just coating the metal parts to a flat black think it would look cool with the red 14. Any thoughts weclome.

I ceramic coated my gen3 from the header to the can in flat black and powder caoted the can in glossy black. The only problem I have is where the tail piece meets the can. It bubbled and started to come off. If I had to do it over again I would have done the glossy black ceramic on the whole pipe. I haven't had a chip come off the ceramic.

My pipe is ceramic coated flat black from front to back. No bubbling anywhere.
I love the look. Gotta get the tail lights and turn signals tinted over the winter

Just got my Muzzy slip-ons (CF) and headers and passenger rear-sets from Jet-Hot. Got the flat black ceramic coating. It really does reduce heat and cool things off pretty fast once the motor cuts off. This is my 5th or 6th time using jet-hot ceramic or hyper performance coatings. Pried the end caps on the can's, the clamps, the extender pipes and headers in flat black. For matching purposes did the passenger pegs and rear sub-frame arm in flat black too. Let me know if you need help on prying off the end caps. I can give you some pointers. Expect to pay about $50 for a repacking kit from Muzzy should your packing unwind and become unuseable when you take the end caps off. It ain't going to be cheap either. About $300 give or take with the headers. Should have installed sometime early next week. Will post pic's then. I've done an entire 2-2 staintune on my BMW too. Coated both exhaust cans and looked great. I wouldn't go powder coating. With all the heat cycles I don't see it looking to good after a short while. My brother used a flat black bar-b-que can of paint and did his muzzy's and it does look pretty damn good for $5. That would be better than powder coating.

Is there an easy way to get the caps off?
