Update from Brock?

Has anyone heard any new information (Dyno results, etc.) on the 08 ZX 14 from Brock other than his first report at Dragbike?

nope, still waiting.

there is a rumor that someone important in Rockingham said the 08 14 makes 3 more hp than the busas and more torque, though i dont know in what state of mod or tune. being it runs so rich up top stock, i would think modded.

stock for stock the busa makes more power

i will wait for Brock to speak up

I called on Monday.
I was told that a 14 had been located.
All they need is for the PC to be released.
As someone posted earlier, the exhaust will not change for the 08.

Unless Kawasaki fucked up their website, as I posted earlier, on DECEMBER 4th,looks like they have an '08 PC! Correct me if I'm wrong and also tell me why too.

Check it out! Click the "performance parts", then the "NINJA ZX14" link, and then 2008 ZX14, and then the "performance" link.

Cool info guys, nice digging. I bet those PCIII's are backwards compatible, but the older ones arent necessarily FORWARDS compatible. Could be as simple as a different plug... or completely different algorythms.

Well guys I have some new info not sure if this is 100 percent correct but have heard from a pretty reliable source that the running rich problem that kawis have is a break in thing that the ECU automatically corrects at 700 miles dont know if this true I havnt tested it but heard from someone I trust!

Damn it !!! i was right ....there is a little Jap guy hidding in the ECU and a at a pre set mile he flips the switch .... !!!!!!! You may think that was a joke But i'm not kidding , at 1000 miles on my 06 zx14 it started making sick sick power ...Just like someone flipped a switch and said go have some fun ...

I wouldnt doubt that this is the case, at least its possible. They've been doing this for a few years on outboards. My last mercury had to get like 20 hrs on it before the ECU would let it rev over 5K. It redlined at 7800, and was a real dog until the breakin was over. I havent heard of this on a bike, but it makes sense.....

What is the mechanical advantage of running rich on top until the "break in" or "700 miles" is complete?

What happens to the ECU at 700 miles if a pipe and tune was done at 500 miles? Does the ECU still change the settings automatically at 700 miles?

Why wouldn't Kawasaki let consumers know about this if it is true?

This whole thing has me confused. It might be because I am a "want-to-be" newbie to the ZX-14 and a current Busa owner Ha Ha!!!

Thanks for your input guys.
