RIP Evil Knievel

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil whose exploits made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

Knievel death was confirmed by his 21-year-old granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs. He had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills.

I played golf with that old fool when he still could play ...I met him in Calif just after the spill in Vegas ...He was still walking with a cane at the time ....Then in 1980 i met him again down here in FL in a local Bar ( The Bannana boat ) ..That man could drink anyone under the table !!!! Last time i saw him he was at a friends place getting his Bus Repaired and what did that old fool do >> He was in the parking lot riding wheelies on a full dresser HD .. That had to be about 5 to 6 years ago and i have not seen him since...

Gods speed you old fool ... We will miss you ....

An icon for sure....
I was one of many children who grew up with aspirations and awe...

My parents used to call me evil...
partly because i always rode like one... the other part , well....

RIP and Godspeed

Evil had the nerve to do what everybody else could only think about doing. Based on that alone, he deserved to be called a legend!

A legend indeed. Can't help but recall an event he held where while warming his bike up for a jump an ahole hells angels member threw a somthing at his bike, Evil promptly spun his bike around and charged it into the group of angels jumping of and swinging haymakers. The 20-30 angels looked for a moment that they would overwhelm him, when suddenly the enraged crowed turned in mass on them. Beeting the living shit out of the lot of them before police could save their sorry asses.

RIP Evel - shocking he hung on as long as he did. There probably won't ever be such an extremist again. Yeah, there were/are better riders, but the stones it took to do the things he did with the shitty bikes he used is mind-boggling! The King will always be a true legend...I had a bunch of the toys, too...

i was on my way to winghouse to pick up some wings before the bucs superbowl game in my 69 camaro,(a few years back) and this decked out ford truck with stars and stripes all over it wants to race me. we lined up coming down belcher and let it eat. i pulled ahead of him and proceeded to the winghouse. when i got there i parked up front and this truck screeched in beside me, out jumps Evel and he says"Hey you Facker, Man does that camaro run good!" We went inside and had a few cold ones before i left with my takeout order. The bucs won the superbowl that day, and i met a legend. RIP Evel you were a cool dude.
