old fart

Greetings gents.I just joined and have a couple questions. Can any one help an old fart? I want to buy a zx 14 but I'am so old I can't handle the riding position..Are their any bar risers made for the set up and beg position and can I raise the forks in the trees to lower it. This is what I have been riding since my last two 02 busas..I'am not a long distance rider, just a local hot rodder bar hopper looking for my last acceleration rushes before I ck. out..Who has an idea to make me comfortable in my forth childhood.Love my rocket but want more upper RPM fun..Thanks gang...Jack

yes there are many products to achieve your goals with a ZX14

For the handlebars many use http://www.helibars.com/

to change your rearset position I suggest VORTEX rearsets vortexracing.com

and I have seen many 14's fronts lowered with the triple tree per your description.

there is also the concourse C14, but motor is down a couple of HP, and per your description max HP is utmost importance

You may also try something like http://www.convertibars.com/ they give you the option to adjust them.

The riding position on the 14 is a lot better than the busa. Get one and enjoy it!

all nice bikes ... LOL especially for an old fart! LOL

Hey Jack, Speigler USA sells a tube bar conversion kit made by LSL, and if you object I have a more subtle mod, takes some elbow grease and enginuity.
I must say, if you have done your own work on the other bikes, your up to it.
Its not difficult.

PM me your email if interested, I can send you more details I have on word format.

Nice job hiding the NOS, but it must go through that little pill in like 3 seconds!

Hey Jack,I know what you mean about being wound up,that 14 has made me crazy the last month.I had trouble locating the dark blue one. I also thought about the Councours due to the riding position. Might have to get both.
One more thing I forgot to mention, check out the convertibars site, pretty interesting set of bars. Also if you get risers the Gen Mar brand are a little higher and closer than the Heli -bars that I normally choose.
BTW the 14 is WAAAY smoother than my Busa, I'm glad I switched (dont tell anyone,I'll get kicked outa here ,lol) Cheers

Jack I am 68 and have my ZX14 set up comfortable fo me. I did the helibars and Buell pegs, slipped the forks an inch, lowered the rear the same with the adjustable dog bones. Added a DB shield. The thin grips cramped my hands so I put on some foam grips for ATVs. I also extended the swingarm to tone down the wheelys and give a smoother ride. It was gonna be my express cruiser untill Kaw came out with the C14, now it is just for fun.

This is my traveling machine now, and it rocks too.

Man is that rocket ever clean.
Reminds me of the old school bikes my dad rode, and the 1st bike I ever got a ride on,
xs 650 candy red with white scallops, and speed stripes... etc.

Love it Jack. Nice work.
