Dawg I really wanted to go with a 4 to 5 mil stroker on her but after reading up on some things including you wrote, I am having second thoughts because I may still want to have some street in her you know! Now I am thinking of a serious nitrous motor. head work some pistons/ rods etc..... why do you ask?

not really a kit, just a +2mm piston (JE) and a ported head, degreed or aftermarket cams. Could go with ADAMS, Carpenter, KWS, or whoever you like.

i am just looking for info from any +2mm 14 owners as to what kind of power/ times they are doing, as well as how much hotter they run.

cant seem to find much info.

Sorry it takes me a while to respond here on the thread since I'm out of town during the week and back in on the weekends. Yeah, if you still want your bike to be streetable, stay away from the crank. Any builder that's not trying to take you for your dough will tell you that. No particular reason for asking what you are doing to it. You love to see how it runs once you decide what you will do to it. You going down to the Bike Week in Daytona in "08"?

Sorry for the typo on the 2nd to last sentence of my previous response. Should've read "I'd love to see how it runs once you decide what you will do to it".

Man, u better put some pistons in there and leave that crank alone not unless you got another motor for the street. I know a couple of guys on here stand by stroking the crank but it ain't the best way for you to do it since you did mention that you will still be riding it on the street. Just my 2 cents

If that is the case, I will buy me a 929 or something for the street but I got to get big horse power you feel me! My mech has straight up told me that he recommends me to stroke the motor with some stock bore pistons. What is the real problem with the stroking and what would you suggest seriously! big motor, nitrous, or turbo?

I have already outlined the problems with stroking. Now if you just going to be racing the bike and not be on the street with it putting street miles on it, then go with the stroke, big pistons, cams and ported heads, (The Works). But you had mentioned earlier that you still want to street ride this 14. Any honest mechanic worth his weight in tools will advise against stroking for street riding. Too much stress on the crank. The pistons and bearing are turning too fast, etc, etc. Now if you plan on tearing the motor down every so often, go ahead and stroke it.

As far as which one I would go with personally, in ref to big motor, nitrous or turbo, I would go with the big motor over the other two but I have always been intrigued by a turbo engine but I have heard that at times that turbo can lag at the line on the track. That's the race right there if that happens. I don't think anything outruns a turbo once its going, Period! Also with the turbo you don't have to go into the motor. I have never been a fan of nitrous for one reason or another, whether dry or wet shot. I would love to have that instant power but not for a engine that I was riding on the street.

Now if I'm going to be all out racing with a particular engine only on the track, I would go all out. Big motor with the pistons, rods, head and a shot or either low compression pistons, head work and turbo, providing the turbo is set up right where I don't have to worry about it lagging at all on take off. Like I said, nothing catches a turbo once it gets going.
