2008 pipes

Anyone with an 08 installed a pipe yet?? Im really wanting to get one and finally made up my mind. I called muzzy and yosh, even brocks and they all werent sure if the 06'/07' would fit or not. The dealership said the part numbers were the same for all three years, but I dont know how that could be. The 2008 has a third catalyzer in the flange area, so I dont know how they would be the same part number???

I need to get one on order, all this quietness is not good??

I'm using the Brock Gen 3 full system. Sounds great and works very well.

That carbon fiber gen3 is the one thing I miss the most regarding my old ZX14

FBA Did you weigh the differences on the exhaust? I'm hoping for about a 36 lb reduction. Also I had a Brocks smeg on my 06-07 and would like the 08 to be a little quieter and I'm thinking the Gen 3 might be the ticket.

Quieter- the gen3 is win win.

Gen3 is somewhat quieter and a key note is the Gen3 puts the exhaust tip (noise) further behind you than the alien head and some of the others. My carbon Gen3 weighed a tad more than a 12 ounce empty diet coke can.

I didn't, but others have and it's about 35 LBS or so.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.........................

I'm betting the older pipes will bolt up, but that's not good enough for me.
Some of my questions are:

Are the primary lengths and diameters OPTIMIZED for the 08 changes?

RobMuzzy reported in the other thread that " the MUZZY M10 produced 189HP, and the new M14 produced 194HP", but does that have anything to do with the 08, or would the results be the same on the 06/07?

Brock hasn't done any testing yet and it appears that he still doesn't have an 08 to test with, so what will come out of his tests and when will that happen?

Wating, waiting, waiting..................................

Good questions and is the reason I haven't jumped yet, and damn it's hard. I hate the exhaust on the left being in the way when you adjust your chain, and you better give it about 5 times as long to cool down as to not fry your arm. So here I am as well, just like when I bought my 06 waiting, waiting, waiting.

I think I'll be waiting a little while also. After speaking with yosh, brocks, and muzzy I will wait to at least see if they come up with something (a little better) such as the M14. Im sure like you said the pipes will bolt up just as the 06-07, but they havent even released the new PC for the 08's yet. I called dyno jet and they gave me a release date of 12-7. The 08 PCIII has a different part number than the previous years. Didnt ask what was different but there must be something to change part #s.

The 08's catalizer is a larger diameter and the 2 outlet flanges for the muff's are larger. The 06 & 07 header pipes are the same diameter as the 08 just with a smaller catalizer. I just installed a set of carbon Yosh slip-ons on an 08 and just swapped the header pipes out...bolts right up perfectly for those wanting to run duals. PC's will be available 12-7 from PU.
Kaw just decided to make one 14 that will work in the 49 state, cal and europe markets for smog reasons instead of 3 different models.

So, does that mean that the same parts of the powerband that were not accessible on the EU and CA models on previous PC3's, are no longer accessible on the new 08 model now?

LUCKY 14- That info was from our testing on the 08 ZX-14. MUZZYS has pipes in stock. Also three new style pipes coming January, the M14, the GP pipe, and the Pro Stock Sidewinder. All for the 08.
