I mean actual spokes, like a Supermoto bike has. I dont even know if they make them for sport bikes but I think it would be something very different.

Interesting question...I have another can spokes handle the power...I thought you said your bike is going to be bright pink...If so pink spokes would look good...

Spoke wheels? Why stop there. Get some mahagony wood trim panels too!

Yes I believe spokes would be fine with the power. I will not be taking this bike to the strip, and it would just be another option as far as cosmetics go.

Those are some serious spokes, and do look good, but I would hate to have the job of keeping them clean. I would think they may be quite heavy also. Mebby look good with white sidewalls..

I used to race alot of motocross and adjusted and trued a many spokes in my day...
I would never go backwarse in technology and put spokes on a kachine like ours.
Spokes are for slow HD's....
There is a reason you have never seen spoked wheels, on drag bikes, or production high speed machinerey....
I am sure someone will bring up the old school salt flats or fastest indian or what ever, those guys adjust their wheels often... the faster their bikes are the more often they have to adjust them!
Well. you'll get good at truing wheels after awhile, if a highspeed wheel wobble doesn't get you first... the centrifugal forces at high speed do wonders for stretching spokes...
at least all of them stretch together!
I would never do it on this bike, and highly recommend you don't....
to each their own though.

The spokes will hold a stock ZX14 with a PC and pipe.

+1 and may I add:
spokes <---good on the ZX14 if you want to be the king of the Sonic parking lot, desire a futuristic version of a cheech and chong bike, enjoy knowing you are riding on weaker wheels, and enjoy spending 5 hours per wheel cleaning and polishing on a regular basis.
When I posted roaring toyz link above for spoked wheels I thought someone was looking for chrome "5-spoke" or such common on bling bikes, not 1950 true-spokes.

I never berated her, just stated some facts and some opinion.
Some info to sit on and consider...
to each their own....
Did I mention they will be considerably heavier than the stock wheels?
Handling will become affected as well.
I'd hate to see someone dissapointed, or worse, ....injured....
The bike is capable of 180+ mph (real world) totally stock....
If she ever decides to explore that end of the spectrum (lord knows I have almost every ride! ) spokes really don't belong at those speeds unless your a spoke tuner...
I know that most people are incabable of trueing a wheel proper, with all the spokes torqued equally...so it stays true and tight...
It takes practice and experience to get it right... PITA too!
LOL
Stevie,... with the pornstar nail polish is the flamer.... LOL....

when i bought my white zx14 , it looked really cool with the red wheels , and then they developed a grey stripe , and then a black stripe , and then teh red was barely visible , and then i washed it and the red looked really cool again - you mean one more maintenance thing to mess with , oh not me - here is a better idea - take off the chain , put on the hub caps that look like they are still in motion even when stopped , put the bike in teh back of a dual wheel pick up truck and parade it around like you was gonna ride it - OR ride it like it is

Yeah, and for those who don't like the brown/gold rims; PROBLEM SOLVED!
All you have to do is not wash them for about a month.
Kind like a low budget "road grime coating".
Could fool the naked eye into thinking they were anodized.

beginning of spring I finally fully washed and repolished my rims after about 4 months of only washing the plastics on the bike and guys at my work were amazed that in one night I was able to take my "painted black rims" and strip n polish them both that fast lol.

I completely understand the maintainance of spoke wheels, I too ride off road bikes and know that keeping spokes tight are a part of life. I know adding weight will also be a factor but I am ok with that. As far as cleaning goes, I am slightly obsessive when it comes to keeping my bikes prestine, so whats a few more pieces to clean .... I think it would be something quite unique for those times when I know I will be cruising to a bike night or something. I appreciate all the input and I will let you all know what my final decision is.
